  • Publication number: 20050027951
Abstract: A computer system includes a plurality of memory modules that contain semiconductor memory, such as DIMMs. The system includes a host/data controller that utilizes an XOR engine to store data and parity information in a striped fashion on the plurality of memory modules to create a redundant array of industry standard DIMMs (RAID). The host/data controller also interleaves data on a plurality of channels associated with each of the plurality of memory modules.

  • Patent number: 6690285
Abstract: A forage harvester represents agricultural implements that include at least one rotating component which is driven through a drive train including a main clutch operable between engaged and disengaged conditions so as to selectively couple and disconnect an output of the implement power source with the rotatable component. A rotation alarm circuit is provided for causing a warning device or devices to be energized in the event that the operator leaves a seat, in which he sits for normal operation, for a predetermined minimum time period while the rotatable component is still rotating, as determined by a rotation sensor. The warning device will remain energized until the rotatable component spins down to a zero speed.

  • Patent number: 6643766
Abstract: Speculative pre-fetching and pre-flushing of additional cache lines minimize cache miss latency and coherency check latency of an out of order instruction execution processor. A pre-fetch/pre-flush slot (DPRESLOT) is provided in a memory queue (MQUEUE) of the out-of-order execution processor. The DPRESLOT monitors the transactions between a system interface, e.g., the system bus, and an address reorder buffer slot (ARBSLOT) and/or between the system interface and a cache coherency check slot (CCCSLOT). When a cache miss is detected, the DPRESLOT causes one or more cache lines in addition to the data line, which caused the current cache miss, to be pre-fetched from the memory hierarchy into the cache memory (DCACHE) in anticipation that the additional data would be required in the near future.

  • Patent number: 6639770
Abstract: A current transformer for a ground fault circuit breaker used on a circuit having at least one line conductor and a neutral conductor includes a toroidal core having a circular opening defining a center point and a multi-turn winding wound on the core. A first guide member is disposed on one side of the core, and a second guide member is disposed on another side of the core. The first and second guide members each have a hole for receiving the line conductor and a hole for receiving the neutral conductor formed therein. The guide members thus position the conductors with respect to the core. The present invention also includes a method of correcting asymmetries in the current transformer. The method includes measuring the magnitude and orientation of any asymmetries, and then altering the current transformer based on the measured magnitude and orientation of the asymmetries so as to eliminate the asymmetries.

  • Publication number: 20030198475
Abstract: A communication system includes an optical “LAN” (50) interconnecting a plurality of information sources (16a) and sinks (22a) with a light-to-electrical converter (36a) associated with an electrical RF transmitters (32a) and an RF-to-light converter (38a) to a receiver (34a). The transmitter is coupled by way of electrical-to-light converter (46a), and the receiver is coupled by way of light-to-electrical converter (44a), and by way of a directional coupler (76a), to an end of an optical bus (74a), so that light signals representing signals to be transmitted flow in one direction, and light signals representing received signals flow in the other direction through the bus. A directional coupler (72a) at the other end of the optical bus routes the transmit light signals to a light-to-RF converter (47a) which feeds a sink or antenna (12a), and received signals from a source or antenna are routed by way of an RF-to-light converter (40a) and the directional coupler (72a) onto the optical bus (74a).

  • Patent number: 6472882
Abstract: The fail-safe electronic circuit breaker includes a test circuit connected to a fault detection circuit. The test circuit selectively generates a simulated circuit fault that is supplied to the fault detection circuit. The fail-safe electronic circuit breaker also includes a trip mechanism disabler that is connected to the test circuit. The trip mechanism disabler permanently disables the fail-safe electronic circuit breaker when the fault detection circuit fails to detect the simulated circuit fault after about a predetermined amount of time.
