  • Patent number: 6301732
Abstract: A bed frame insert including a pair of side frame members for supporting the bed, one end of the pair of side frame members being pivotally supported to the bed frame, at least one cross frame member extending between and interconnecting the pair of side frame members, at least one leg member secured to the cross frame member, and a pair of elevating posts for inclining the pair of side frame members relative to the bed frame during use, the pair of elevating posts being removably secured to the pair of side frame members proximate to another end of the pair of side frame members. The leg member is adapted to contact and be supported by an adjacent floor to thereby aid the pair of side frame members in supporting the bed. In one embodiment, one end of each of the pair of side frame members are pivotally mounted to the bed frame and the pair of elevating posts are also removably secured to the bed frame.

  • Patent number: 6138305
Abstract: A bed frame insert for attachment to a bed frame to allow a bed supported on the bed frame insert to be selectively positioned from a horizontal position to an inclined position. The bed frame insert includes a pair of side frame members for supporting the bed which are pivotably mountable to a first end of the bed frame. The bed frame insert also includes a forward cross frame member extending between the pair of side frame members, a mattress restraining member positioned on the bed frame insert proximate to the first end of the bed frame and at least two leg members adapted to incline the bed frame insert relative to the bed frame by pivoting the bed frame insert. To accommodate beds of different widths, the forward cross frame member and the mattress restraining member may be transversely adjustable. The mattress restraining member acts to prevent longitudinal movement of the mattress when the bed frame is in an inclined position.

  • Patent number: 6112514
Abstract: An array of adaptive or fixed Herschel-Quincke tubes aligned in a circumferential or helical array about an inlet of a turbofan engine. The array of tubes effectively divide the acoustic energy generated by the engine. One of the energy components propagates within the tubes while the other propagates within the engine compartment. At some time certain, the acoustic energy in the tubes is reintroduced into the engine compartment to cancel the acoustic energy remaining in the engine as it propagates from the fan towards the inlet and outlet openings.

  • Patent number: 6006382
Abstract: A bed frame insert for attachment to a conventional bed frame to allow a bed supported on the bed frame insert to be selectively positioned from a horizontal position to an inclined position. The bed frame insert includes a pair of side frame members for supporting the bed which are pivotably mountable to a first end of the conventional bed frame. The bed frame insert also includes a forward cross frame member extending between the pair of side frame members, a mattress restraining member positioned on the bed frame insert proximate to the first end of the conventional bed frame and at least two leg members adapted to incline the bed frame insert relative to the conventional bed frame by pivoting the bed frame insert. To accommodate beds of different widths, the forward cross frame member and the mattress restraining member may be transversely adjustable. The mattress restraining member acts to prevent longitudinal movement of the mattress when the bed frame is in an inclined position.
