  • Publication number: 20060162480
Abstract: Bevel-cornered cable eyelets suitable to be operatively fitted onto a moveable brake arm of a motor vehicle park brake mechanism have an eyelet portion forming a bevel-cornered opening and a cable connection portion integral with the eyelet portion. In typical motor vehicle park brake applications, good performance can be achieved with the front corners beveled at an angle of 35-55 degrees to the front surface. The opening of the cable eyelet to receive the brake arm has a fore-and-aft inside dimension smaller than the lateral inside dimension of the opening. The bevel surfaces resist turning of the eyelet relative to the brake arm during normal use. A motor vehicle park brake cable comprises an elongate brake cable having a first end suitable to be connected to a park brake actuator and a second end attached to a bevel-cornered cable eyelet. The eyelet is readily disengaged from the brake arm, e.g., for repairs, service, etc.

  • Patent number: 5062770
Abstract: A fluid pumping apparatus and system including a double acting diaphragm pumping device in which each pumping component has a pair of spaced apart diaphragms defining a containment chamber and all exposed surfaces in the pumping chamber and the containment chamber are made of an inert plastic material, a fluid sensor extending into each containment chamber for sensing the presence of unwanted fluids therein, and a pump control system for activating the pumping apparatus and responding to an output signal generated by either sensor to deactivate the pumping apparatus in the event of leakage of fluid into either containment chamber.

  • Patent number: 4901751
Abstract: A fluid control valve with leak detection and containment features for use in a fluid handling system incorporating one or more flow controlling devices each including: an actuator; a weir valve and associated valve housing; and a pair of spaced apart diaphragms, one of which serves as the closure member for the weir valve and the other providing a secondary seal defining the limits of a containment chamber for at once preventing contamination of the controlled fluid, protecting the actuating mechanism and allowing immediate detection of valve closure failure. A piston member disposed within the chamber is coupled to the two diaphragms, and a fluid detection device is disposed in communication with a sealed containment chamber formed between the two diaphragms. The system includes electronic control apparatus responsive to the detection device and is operative to instantaneously shut down the system in the event of a detected failure.
