  • Patent number: 5399813
Abstract: This invention is directed to a high performance electrical telecommunication transmission cable, particularly for undercarpet applications. More precisely, this invention is directed to a low-profile, high performance flat cable, where the cable may be subjected to potentially damaging compressive forces from walking on an overlying carpet. The cable comprises a plurality of conductors arranged as plural sets of twisted pairs, with each conductor consisting of an inner conductive core surrounded by insulation, an outer dielectric member having plural longitudinally extending chambers, where each chamber includes two sets of the twisted pairs, spaced-apart and arranged in side-by-side fashion and generally parallel. The height of the chamber is dimensioned to exceed the wrap diameter of a set of a twisted pair of conductors.

  • Patent number: 5178555
Abstract: A kit (2) adapting a junction box (4) for installation along a raceway comprises, a mounting bracket (10) having a first adjustable mounting mechanism for locating the mounting bracket (10) along the raceway, providing an initial adjustment, and a second adjustable mounting mechanism for securing a junction box (4) to the mounting bracket (10), and for adjustably locating the junction box (4) along the mounting bracket (10), providing a second and final adjustment to accurately locate the junction box (4) between two premeasured lengths of cable (3).

  • Patent number: 5035639
Abstract: Hermaphroditic electrical terminals positioned within hermaphroditic insulative housings are suitable for electrical power distribution. Each terminal has an inclined contact arm opposed to a generally flat contact arm. Both contact arms are longitudinally coined. Each generally flat contact arm is sandwiched between the two arms of the other terminal when the two terminals are mated. The convex coined surfaces on the inclined arms engage concave coined surfaces on the generally flat contact of the other terminal to maintain the line contact between convex coined surfaces on the generally flat contact arms in static equilibrium.

  • Patent number: 4372637
Abstract: A bond shield terminal formed of two hermaphroditic elements of substantially identical shape, each element being lockable in the other and providing a force on a shield of a pair of wires positioned therebetween. Each of the hermaphroditic elements includes a base and a pair of latching arms depending from one adjacent pair of corners of the base, each of the latching arms having a pair of spaced apertures therein and a pair of legs depending from the other two corners of the base, each of the legs having a latching finger formed therein for locking into the apertures of the mating element. A pair of spring arms is formed in the base and depends therefrom in the same direction as the arms and legs, each of the spring arms having extensions for applying a force to wires between a pair of elements to provide a compressive force against the wires and maintain the metal shields thereof in compression against each other to provide good electrical contact.
