    Abstract: An oval track guides plates with tobacco stickholders thereon around the track so that workers at stations around the track can impale tobacco plants on the tobacco sticks in the stickholders as they pass by or as they are stopped momentarily in front of the workers. A lever-camlike object arrangement opens and closes claws on the stickholders as the lever reaches or touches the camlike object and then passes over it and drops off.

    Abstract: A waste water treatment system including a vessel having a closed loop flow path, a bottom and a wall. A clarifier is mounted on the vessel wall within the vessel and includes a clarifier wall which is elongated in the direction of the flow path and is relatively narrowly spaced from the vessel wall. A clarifier wall extends from the bottom to a location above the intended level of waste water to define a clarifying chamber that is relatively narrow. Inlets may be located along the length of the clarifier wall and the bottom wall of the clarifying chamber may be provided with sludge outlets.

    Abstract: The disclosure embraces a manually operated weight and balance calculator for use with a slide card containing a graphic display of the weight-balance tolerance characteristics for a particular type of aircraft; the calculator includes a carrier channel for movably supporting a card in a selected position; spaced apart arcuate portions are provided for rotatably retaining a flat disc member; the disc member is provided with an outer rim portion which carries markings thereon alignable with markings formed on one of the arcuate portions; the disc member is provided with a central portion which is transparent to permit observation of a card supported by the calculator; the transparent portion is also provided with a plurality of parallel slots which permit access to the card carried by the calculator for the purpose of placing a series of markings on the card which are characteristic of the magnitude and position of the loads being carried by the aircraft and which will permit visual observation of the effect o
