  • Patent number: 4340438
Abstract: A coating method in which a coating film is transferred from a film carrying roll leaf, onto the surface of a product. A positioning platform, together with a pressure member which acts against the platform, define a transfer station at which the roll leaf and product are concurrently aligned. A continuously moving and guided thermal belt preheats the foil sufficiently to effect separation of the roll leaf decorative layer from the carrier, and assure its transfer to the product surface.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 20, 1982
    Inventor: Jesse B. Davis
  • Patent number: 4326910
Abstract: Apparatus for transferring a layer of a decorative material from a foil, onto a work piece surface. Said apparatus includes means for accurately metering the necessary degree of heat to the work piece, to achieve the transfer. The heating means include a thermal belt that is sequentially heated and applied to the work piece surface. The temperature of the thermal belt is accurately modulated through at least a pair of rotatable guide rollers which retain and position the belt. The method includes the steps of contacting the work piece and/or the transfer material, with the thermal belt for a sufficient time period to achieve the desired level of heating at the work piece surface.

  • Patent number: 4122703
Abstract: Method and apparatus for continuously monitoring a moving yarn line to detect the presence of undesired denier imperfections. The yarn is passed through an elongated constricted passage sensing device into which a sensing fluid is concurrently fed. The back pressure thus created in the fluid carrying line due to flow resistance in the sensing device, is monitored to detect variations which would indicate an imperfection in the moving yarn line.

  • Patent number: 4078829
Abstract: A racing sulky adapted to be drawn by a horse between laterally adjustable guide shafts, said sulky having rider support means including a transverse bar which journals the sulky wheels. A stabilizing bar engages the respective wheel axles, and is longitudinally adjustable to individually regulate wheel alignment.
