  • Publication number: 20120179170
Abstract: The present invention discloses a device for physically dislodging, extricating, and manipulating ingrown body and facial hair so as to prevent and correct pseudofolliculitis barbae, pseudofolliculitis pubis, and pseudofolliculitis nuchae. The device comprises a rasp, an insert, a handle, and a cap. The rasp is the primary component of the device. The rasp extricates ingrown hair from hair follicles; dislodges imbedded hair from underneath the epidermal layer of the skin thereby allowing the hair to fully emerge from the follicle. The rasp also prevents extrafollicular and transfollicular penetration of the follicle wall.

  • Patent number: 7941003
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining an ensquared energy associated with an imaging system. In one embodiment of the invention, a focal plane array captures an image of a target comprising a plurality of point sources, each point source being associated with a pixel within the focal plane array. An image analysis component estimates an ensquared energy value for the imaging system from respective intensity values of the associated pixels and known relative positions of the plurality of point sources.

  • Patent number: 7677724
Abstract: A spectacle frame mount provides secure, removable positioning of a spectacle frame in a gas mask or full face respirator. A spring wire mount supports the spectacle frame between two legs of a loop. The spring wire mount includes two leg portions that have lower ends which terminate adjacent each other when the mount is in its use position. The two leg portions positively engage an internal portion of the full face mask so that the spectacle frame will be positioned within the interior of the mask at a location such that the spectacles will be properly positioned for use by the person wearing the mask.

  • Publication number: 20090026121
Abstract: An air driven particle recirculator designed to introduce air around a single or multiple compartment septic tank discharge outlet baffle or filter assembly. The air driven particle recirculator causes a movement of waste particles and suspended solids to be forced away from the inlet of the outlet baffle or filter assembly to only allow cleaner filtered effluent to enter the secondary treatment system. The particle recirculator performs a function normally carried out by a settling compartment or clarifier zone associated in aerobic type septic systems. When installed in a single or multiple compartment septic tank utilizing an aerobic process, the particle recirculator will remove waste particles from the discharge area causing cleaner discharge and a cleaner septic tank filter assembly or outlet baffle reducing potential pre-mature failure or damage to the secondary treatment system.

  • Publication number: 20080203006
Abstract: An apparatus designed to convert the dynamic of residential wastewater treatment processing bacteria from anaerobic to aerobic bacteria in existing single or multiple compartment septic tanks. The apparatus consists of a small self-standing weighted diffuser assembly designed with a center tube having a specific series of vertically lined orifices and a deflector plate that can be lowered through an 8-inch diameter opening by means of the attached flexible airline into an existing septic tank and sit directly on the bottom of the septic tank. A flexible airline attaches the diffuser assembly to a small air pump located outside of the septic tank. When the air pump is activated, air will enter the diffuser assembly and discharge through the orifices a combination of fine and coarse air bubbles. This action causes the wastewater to be forced against the deflector plate and creates a rolling action starting at the bottom of the septic tank and rolling upwards toward the outside of the tank.

  • Publication number: 20060244588
Abstract: A vehicle tracking system includes a wheel containing sensor circuitry capable of sensing various types of conditions, such as wheel rotation, wheel vibration caused by skidding, and specific electromagnetic and/or magnetic signals indicative of particular wheel locations. The sensor circuitry is coupled to an RF transceiver, which may but need not be included within the wheel. The wheel may also include a brake mechanism. In one embodiment, the wheels are placed on shopping carts and are used to collect and monitor shopping cart status and location data via a wireless network. The collected data may be used for various purposes, such as locking the wheel of an exiting cart if the customer has not paid, estimating numbers of queued carts, stopping wheel skid events that occur during mechanized cart retrieval, store planning, and providing location-based messaging to customers.

  • Publication number: 20060247847
Abstract: A navigation system uses a dead reckoning method to estimate an object's present position relative to one or more prior positions. In some embodiments, the dead reckoning method determines a change in position from the object's heading and speed during an elapsed time interval. In embodiments suitable for use with wheeled objects, the dead reckoning method determines the change in position by measuring the heading and the amount of wheel rotation. Some or all of the components of the navigation system may be disposed within a wheel, such as a wheel of a shopping cart.

  • Publication number: 20050151346
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for securing and positioning an axle relative to a cycle frame are provided. An adjustor block is placed in a cavity of the cycle frame. The block can slide longitudinally within the frame cavity. An axle bolt is inserted into the cavity and seated against a bearing surface of the adjustor block for engagement with the adjustor block. The axle bolt is threadedly engaged with the axle, thereby coupling the axle to the adjustor block. An adjustor bolt is inserted into a bore in the cycle frame and used to move the adjustor block longitudinally within the frame cavity, which in turn moves the axle longitudinally relative to the frame. The frame and axle assembly are both functional and aesthetically pleasing without the use of axle covers.
