  • Patent number: 11946595
Abstract: An enclosure for a fill plug is provided and includes a base to which a retainment plate is secured. The retainment plate has an opening for engaging about a throat of the fill plug such that axial and rotational movement of the fill plug relative to the base is prevented. A lid is secured to the base and is movable between a closed position in which the lid covers the base and an open position in which the base is uncovered by the lid. The lid defines a cavity for accommodating the fill plug when the lid is in the closed position. A lock is carried by the lid for locking the lid in the closed position, a spring resiliently urges the lid into the open position when the lid is unlocked, and a gasket is carried by the lid for forming a seal with the base.

  • Publication number: 20230072439
Abstract: A portable target stand include a central bracket having a plurality of slots and holes and a plurality of legs with pins which rest in the holes so that the legs can pivot with respect to the central bracket.

  • Publication number: 20060287722
Abstract: A voice prosthesis device provides a passageway between a tracheal end of the device and an esophageal end of the device. A valve in the passageway includes a seat having a first hardness and a movable valve member having a second hardness harder than the first hardness. The movable valve member closes against the seat to close the valve.

  • Publication number: 20060276893
Abstract: A voice prosthesis device for insertion into a tracheoesophageal opening of a wearer and a method of making it. The device comprises a barrel providing a first passageway therethrough, a tracheal flange adjacent a tracheal end of the barrel and an esophageal flange adjacent an esophageal end of the barrel. The tracheal flange and esophageal flange aid in retaining the voice prosthesis device in the tracheoesophageal opening. The first passageway may include a first stop extending inwardly from a sidewall of the first passageway between the tracheal and esophageal ends and a plurality of second stops extending inwardly from the sidewall of the first passageway between the first stop and the esophageal end of the first passageway. A valve mechanism between the first stop and the second stops permits flow through the first passageway from the tracheal end and impedes flow through the first passageway from the esophageal end. At least one second passageway may be provided on the valve mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20050256573
Abstract: Microbial growth on the surface of a valve of a voice prosthesis and optionally the cartridge or ring supporting the valve, is inhibited by providing antimicrobial activity at a level sufficient to retard growth of a microbial film by dispersing an inorganic antimicrobial agent such as silver oxide or an organic antimicrobial agent such as triclosan or butyl paraben dispersed in a medical grade silicone elastomer. The valve, ring or cartridge is in contact with body fluids containing microorganisms and nutrients therefor. The antimicrobial surface can interfere with or inhibit the growth of a biofilm, bacterial layer or a yeast layer. The body of the prosthesis may also contain an antimicrobial surface as long as it is non-toxic to the tissue it contacts.

  • Publication number: 20050171602
Abstract: A voice prosthesis comprising a tubular body portion, a valve and a valve seat disposed within the body portion. The valve seat is further comprised of a medical grade elastomer containing a dispersion of an antimicrobial agent. This valve seat extends the life of the prosthesis by retarding the growth of microorganisms. The body portion of the prosthesis may also contain an antimicrobial agent at a concentration that is non-toxic to the tissue it contacts.

  • Publication number: 20050020844
Abstract: A method for making an elastomeric material containing an antimicrobial composition such as a dispersion of silver oxide that is suitable for implantation within the body. The elastomer made in accordance with this method extends the amount of work-time available for processing the elastomer into an article as compared with the work-time available when using prior art compounding methods.
