  • Patent number: 6048074
Abstract: A miniature decorative electric lamp assembly includes an electric bulb inserted into a lampbase member, with the lampbase lower end being received in the upper end of a central longitudinal passageway in a socket member which contains dual electrical contacts each connected to an insulated wire. The lamp assembly also includes an external interlocking device for which the lampbase upper portion includes an elongated semi-flexible radial extending tongue element which has an outer biased elastic detent portion, and the socket member includes a rigid radial frame element having a central opening. During lamp assembly the lampbase member is inserted into the socket member and the internal electric contacts are made and the tongue detent portion is hooked into the frame element, so that the two members are locked firmly together so as to preclude any inadvertent separation and electric disconnect during handling or use.

  • Patent number: 6031337
Abstract: An assembly structure for a Christmas light string controller includes a top cover, a bottom cover and a controlling switch. The bottom cover defines therein an interior space for receiving a first and second circuit boards. The top face of the first circuit board is substantially flush with the top edge of the bottom cover. The second circuit board is perpendicularly received in the interior space of the bottom cover and the top end of the second circuit board is connected with the first circuit board. The controlling switch is positioned above a contact area of the first circuit board. By means of operating the controlling switch, an actuating signal is sent to the conductive wires for controlling the flickering of the Christmas light string.

  • Patent number: 6010346
Abstract: A bulb socket with water draining structure is disclosed, including a water drainage hole formed on a side wall of the socket to allow water entering the socket to be expelled therethrough. The bulb socket also includes shielding members which shield the central contact and side contact of the bulb socket which are to be contacted by the tip contact and the ring contact of a bulb when the bulb is inserted into the socket and protect the central contact and the side contact from being contacted by the water entering the bulb socket in order to avoid short-circuiting. Also, a ventilation channel extends along the side wall of the socket to an open top end of the socket so as to facilitate to balance the pressure inside the socket which helps draining water through the drainage hole.

  • Patent number: 5969469
Abstract: A miniature decorative electric lamp assembly includes an electric bulb having dual bare wires inserted into a lampbase, with the lampbase lower end being received in the upper end of a lampholder socket which contains dual contact or blades each connected to an insulated wire. The lampbase lower end has a lower projection portion which is preferably triangular-shaped and extends downwardly to a position between the dual contact or blades of the lampholder socket, so as to preclude any inadvertent electrical short between the blades and bare upper ends of the insulated wires. This configuration also permits any moisture which may enter the lamp assembly to be reliably drained away through openings in the lampbase lower end and the socket member lower end adjacent the electrical insulated wires.

  • Patent number: 5816686
Abstract: A miniature electric lamp and reflector assembly including a bulb holder unit with an electric memory retaining bulb and a base socket member for receiving the insert plug. The base socket has a member shaped cavity to accept the plug and a reflector member lower end, and has dual oppositely located radial projections at its upper end; a reflector has an annular-shaped lower sleeve portion which contains dual oppositely-located longitudinal grooves and is provided with an annular stop surface and dual notches at its upper end. Insertion of the base socket member upper end into the reflector member sleeve permits the dual projections to slide through the dual longitudinal grooves, and be rotated into the notches, which results in an interlocking connection joint between the base socket member the reflector.
