  • Patent number: 8474788
Abstract: The present invention provides a control device featuring a control module featuring one or more modules configured to provide a first control signal for controlling a first device in order to open or close a second device; and also configured to respond to a change in a parameter sensed in relation to controlling the first device, and to provide a second control signal for controlling the first device based at least partly on the change in the parameter in relation to time. The first device may be a motor; the second device is a valve; and the parameter may be current. In operation, the first control signal is for turning on the motor in order to open or close the valve, and the second control signal is for turning off the motor in order to open or close the valve.

  • Publication number: 20120290227
Abstract: A level sensing circuit board featuring at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code, where the at least one memory and computer program code are configured, with the at least one processor, to cause the apparatus at least to: respond to a signal containing information related to the electrical conductivity of a material causing a stimulus to a sensing plate that corresponds to a positive plate of a capacitor directly connected to an input of a comparator that forms part of a variable frequency oscillator; and determine a proportional response containing information about the material causing the stimulus to the sensing plate based at least partly on the signal received. The level sensing circuit may be used as a means to turn a pump on or off based on a sensed fluid level.

  • Publication number: 20110002791
Abstract: A pump system or device is provided for removing water from a pool cover or sump, featuring a controller configured to respond to a signal containing information about the ambient temperature in relation to a pump and to provide a controller signal containing information to control the operation of the pump based at least partly on the ambient temperature. The pumping system or device me be configured to include some combination of the following: temperature sensing, including a Thermistor, to change control logic at temperatures below a specific level (e.g. below 35 degrees F.
