Abstract: An immersive sensation enhancement method and system for video sequence displaying is provided. An immersive sensation enhancement system, the system including: a foreground image identification unit to identify a foreground image for each frame of an input image; a foreground image characteristic extraction unit to extract a characteristic of the foreground image; a contrast threshold identification unit to identify a contrast threshold based on the characteristic of the foreground image; and an immersive sensation enhancement processing unit to process an immersive sensation enhancement of the input image based on at least one of the characteristic of the foreground image and the contrast threshold.

Abstract: A texture reproduction system and method and a chroma correction system and method for presence enhancement are provided. The texture reproduction system including: a texture analysis unit to classify a pixel included in an input image using Red Green Blue (RGB) values of the pixel; a chroma correction unit to correct a chroma based on at least one of an average chroma value of the input image and a hue value of the pixel according to a classification of the pixel; and a spatial filter unit to output a final output value of the pixel via a high frequency component extracted using the RGB values for each pixel.

Abstract: A system and method for generating immersive sensation for a two-dimensional still image is provided. The method for generating immersive sensation including: converting a color space of an inputted image; loading a background mask to separate a foreground image and a background image from the inputted image; achieving attribute information for each of the foreground image and the background image, based on a perceptual attribute with respect to the color space, via an image content analysis; predicting scaling parameters based on the attribute information; and enhancing the inputted image based on the scaling parameter.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of reproducing a preferred color is provided. The apparatus includes a color distribution analysis module to analyze a distribution of colors in an input image, a dominant color extraction module to extract a dominant color from the input image according to a result of the analysis, a conversion domain determination module to determine a conversion domain to be processed in a color space based on a proportion of the dominant color, and a color conversion module to convert colors in the input image that belong to the conversion domain.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of reproducing a preferred color to eliminate or reduce errors caused when converting of colors of an input image in corresponding color regions of a color space, respectively, wherein the colors of an input image are included in a plurality of different color regions. The apparatus includes a region judging unit to judge whether pixels of an input image are included in one or more preset color regions, a color converting unit to execute a color conversion of the pixels in at least one conversion-desired color regions among one or more color regions that include the pixels, and an output unit to output an image formed by the color-converted pixels.

The image processing method includes classifying an input image into predetermined image categories based on a feature of a brightness histogram of the input image, and adjusting a brightness of the input image based on grayscale functions corresponding to the image categories and positions of pixels making up the input image.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for enhancing the quality of images using complementary color contrast are provided. The method includes (a) extracting color information of each of a plurality of pixels of an input image, (b) determining whether the input image includes both a first pixel belonging to a first group and a second pixel belonging to a second group with reference to the extracted color information, (c) converting a first hue of the first pixel into an optimum point of the first group, and (d) converting a second hue of the second pixel into an optimum point of the second group, wherein the first hue corresponding to the optimum point of the first group and the second hue corresponding to the optimum point of the second group are complementary to each other.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for an image adaptive color adjustment of pixels in a color gamut is disclosed. The method includes calculating a representative value that shows color characteristics of pixels included in a color gamut, calculating a final target color required to convert the representative value to approach a reference target point existing in the color gamut, and converting the pixels included in the color gamut to approach the final target color. The apparatus includes a color gamut boundary storage module; a reference target point storage module; a target color determination module which calculates a representative value that shows color characteristics of pixels included in a color gamut and calculates a final target color required to convert the representative value to approach the reference target point; and a color conversion module which converts the pixels included in the color gamut to approach the final target color.
