  • Publication number: 20060117565
Abstract: A method for shrinking a heat pipe and a shrinking apparatus for a heat pipe are disclosed. A composite die is provided with a plurality of die blocks. The heat pipe to be shrunk is placed into a die cavity within the composite die. An arbor unit is placed into the heat pipe. The heat pipe is struck by the composite die while the arbor unit upholds a wick structure of the heat pipe against a wall of the heat pipe. The arbor unit is extracted from the heat pipe after the heat pipe is shrunk. The method for shrinking a heat pipe ensures a through heat pipe after swage process.

  • Publication number: 20060108104
Abstract: A heat pipe structure, having a tubular member, a support member and a wick structure. The tubular member is hollow to accommodate the support member and the wick structure therein. The wick structure is located between the tubular member and the support member. The wick structure is supported by the support member to be attached to an interior wall of the tubular member. The material melting point of the wick structure is lower than those of the tubular member and the support member. Therefore, the support member maintains good supporting function during sintering process, such that the wick structure can be adequately attached to interior wall of the tubular member.

  • Patent number: 6789611
Abstract: A bubble cycling heat exchanger is disclosed. A closed fluid loop is in contact with a heat absorbing source through a heat conducting block; the loop has a bubble generator, an expanding area for generating bubbles is installed at loop; the loop is also formed with a guide region from which bubbles is easily separable and a radiator; a heat conducting block of the closed loop is connected to a heat absorbing source; since the overheat of the heat absorbing source will cause the loop to generate bubble; by an unequilibrium formed at the guide region of the loop, the bubbles will separate from the heat absorbing source so that the liquid in the loop flows for transferring heat so that heat is radiated by the fins or other elements of the radiator from the primary element of a computer at the heat absorbing source, the loop operates continuously until a heat equilibrium is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20030111217
Abstract: A bubble cycling heat exchanger system includes a closed fluid cycling loop containing a working fluid therein for removing heat from a heat source thermally coupled to a longitudinally extended heat-conducting block. The closed fluid cycling loop is contacted in proximity to the beat-conducting block with only one side portion thereof near the heat source for establishing a temperature difference and a density difference of the working fluid to aid in achieving a unidirectional flow therein.

  • Publication number: 20020195230
Abstract: The present invention provides a heat exchange structure of a loop type heat pipe, which has a closed loop formed by connecting an evaporation portion, a vapor passageway, a condensation portion, and a fluid return passageway in series in this order. Appropriate amount of liquid is filled in the loop. The flow resistance of the vapor passageway is smaller than that of the fluid return passageway. When the evaporation portion is heated and the condensation portion radiates heat, all the fluids in the loop will stably flow toward the same direction, and pass through any position of the loop. Therefore, non-condensing gas existing in the loop will have little influence to the loop and flow along the loop, thereby letting the loop have good uniformity of temperature and large amount of heat transfer rate.

  • Patent number: 6478082
Abstract: A heat dissipating apparatus with nest wind duct is arranged corresponding to a horizontal flow of air. The heat dissipating apparatus is composed of nest wind duct with a plurality of through passages to form at least two vertical porous surfaces for the heat dissipating apparatus. The wind duct can be composed of strip fixture having element selected from the group consisting of thin rectangular pipe, circular pipe, hexagonal pipe or the composition thereof. Moreover, the wind duct also can be formed by integrally forging, extruding, casting porous ceramic or metal materials. Moreover, the wind duct also can be formed with strip and panel fixtures assembled by soldering, gluing, welding, brazing or sintering. Therefore, at least one lateral surface of the heat dissipating apparatus is in contact with a thermal source or a plate of heat transfer.

  • Patent number: 6439298
Abstract: A cylindrical heat radiator comprises a cylindrical main body having a tightly sealing cavity, the cavity being filled with air; an inner surface of the cylindrical main body being formed with two penetrating channels. The penetrating channels of the cylindrical main body are located with fin sets. The cylindrical main body is formed by an inner tube, an outer tube and sealing rings at two ends. The inner tube and outer tube are arranged non-coaxially. A wick structure is installed in the cavity. By a degassing process, a heat-pipe type heat transferring structure is formed in the cylindrical main body, or by a non-degassing step, a boiling type heat transferring structure is formed. A heat dissipating body being in contact with the cylindrical main body. Fluid in the cylindrical main body is heated to boil and vaporized so that the fluid in the cylindrical main body will flow circularly.
