  • Patent number: 9601018
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for parking space management of a managed parking structure. Information is received from a vehicle that has parked in the managed parking structure. The information from the vehicle is utilized to determine a probabilistic location of the vehicle within the managed parking structure. Responsive to determining the probabilistic location of the vehicle within the managed parking structure using the information from the vehicle, an occupied parking space evidence data structure is updated with a vehicle identifier of the vehicle as being associated with the location of the vehicle within the managed parking structure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 12, 2015
Date of Patent: March 21, 2017
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation
Inventors: Randall L. Cogill, Olivier Gallay, Chungmok Lee, Zubair Nabi, Martin Rufli, Robert Shorten, Tigran Tchrakian, Rudi Verago, Fabian R. Wirth, Jia Y. Yu, Sergiy Zhuk

  • Publication number: 20160224945
Abstract: Methods and systems for scheduling include receiving a plurality of scheduling requests for events, where each of the scheduling requests includes a list of invited individuals. An optimization problem is solved based on the set of scheduling requests, a set of available times for respective invited individuals, location information for the respective invited individuals, a set of possible locations, and a set of available vehicles. Times and locations are scheduled responsive to respective scheduling requests based on the solution to the optimization problem and invited individuals are assigned to vehicles, if said invited individuals are in locations other than a respective scheduled location, to provide transportation for each invited individual to and from the scheduled location.

  • Publication number: 20160140590
Abstract: In order to modulate consumer usage of service categories for accessing a resource, an electronic service menu is first transmitted by a computer system. The electronic service menu includes a cost indicator and a benefit indicator for each of the service categories. Subsequent to the transmission of the electronic service menu, consumer usage data about each of the service categories is tracked. The consumer usage data is then analyzed. Based on this analysis, the service capacity of at least one of the service categories is adjusted. Also based on the analysis, a revised electronic service menu is transmitted by the computer system. The revised electronic service menu includes at least one revised cost indicator and at least one revised benefit indicator.
