    Abstract: A simple and powerful method transmits an identity of a multicast message from a transmitter to several receivers, connected to the transmitter by a common transmission medium. The identity is assigned to the multicast message. A broadcast message is generated, containing the identity and pre-determined addresses specifying the receivers of the multicast message. The broadcast message is transmitted from the transmitter to all receivers connected to the receiver by the transmission medium. The broadcast message is checked by the receivers for storage of the identity by the receivers specified by the addresses thereof.
