Abstract: A hybrid turbine classifier for a coal pulverizer includes a cone disposed within the separator body of the pulverizer. The cone extends downwardly from a base to a frustum which forms an opening for depositing coal particles on the grinding table of the pulverizer. The outer surface of the cone and the separator body define an outer passage for coal/air flow, containing a mixture of smaller and larger coal particles, from the grinding table. A circular, first classifier cage disposed proximate to the base of the cone defines a circumferential passage between the outer passage and the cavity of the cone. The first classifier cage includes static, circumferentially-spaced vanes which direct the coal/air flow in a spiraling, circular flow path within the cavity. The flow path defines a first flow direction. A circular, second classifier cage is coaxially disposed within the first classifier cage.

Abstract: A two-stage dynamic classifier (30, 30′) for classifying a pulverized feed material (34, 34′, 38) entrained in an air flow (31) includes a vertically extending housing having a lower feed material inlet (18), an upper feed material outlet (24), a processing section (47, 47′) disposed between the feed material inlet and the feed material outlet, and a lower tailings discharge (26). A classifier conditioner (32) is disposed in a lower portion of the processing section and a turbine classifier (42, 44) is disposed in an upper portion of the processing section.

Abstract: An airlock-feeder for a coal pulverizing system which includes a raw coal bunker, a pulverizer, and a vertically extending coal duct forming a raw coal flow path from the raw coal bunker to the pulverizer. The airlock-feeder comprises upper, middle and lower, vertically separated valves disposed in the raw coal flow path. Each valve has a seal member, a disc pivotally mounted at a centerline, and a pneumatic actuator. At least one or two of the valves are closed at any given time thereby providing a positive air-tight seal.

Abstract: A method is provided for operating a system of computers for providing access to information, products or services. In the method there is provided, under the control of a server computer, a supplier mobile agent program in respect of at least one supplier of information, products or services for communicating with a respective host computer of that supplier, and, in response to a user access request, there is provided at least one program for determining the nature of information, products or services required by that user and for selecting at least one of the provided supplier mobile agents according to the determined nature of the user's access requirements.

Abstract: A heat transfer element assembly for a rotary regenerative air preheater for spacing the heat transfer plates to optimize performance and reduce costs. Rectangular or trapezoidal spacer tabs are punched and bend outwardly from the plates and arranged in parallel rows. The tabs have specific height and length ranges and ratios and the area of the tabs to the area of the remaining portion of the plate has a specific ratio range.
