    Abstract: The invention relates to a welding technical field and provides a crawling welding robot. The crawling welding robot includes a vehicle chassis and two crawler wheels connected to two opposite sides of the vehicle chassis, respectively, wheel carriers of two crawler wheels are movably connected with the vehicle chassis. In this way, when the crawling welding robot moves on a non-planar surface for welding, the two crawler wheels can freely adjust its posture relative to the vehicle chassis to adapt to the surface for welding and improve a degree of fit between the two crawler wheels and the surface for welding, making the moving direction of the crawling welding robot easier to be controlled and reducing a probability of the crawling welding robot slipping or falling from the surface for welding.

A sensor detects a welding seam position and transmits the position to a tracking controller. The tracking controller sends instructions to a welding torch which may be moved in generally horizontal and vertical directions based upon the instructions. Additionally, a crawler drive controller receives the welding seam position and sends a control signal to an AC servomotor drive that positions the crawler based on the control signal.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for arc welding particularly regarding a pulse arc welding machine comprising a welding power source having an output characteristic control circuit, an overload protection circuit, a driving circuit, and a main power circuit, and a wire feeding unit having a wire feeding control circuit, a motor driving circuit and a wire feed motor. The output characteristic control circuit comprises a welding arc autoregulating control system which provides the power source with a multi-segmental and moving output characteristic with varying slope, a circuit for connecting arbitrary number of output characteristic segments with arbitrary or varying slope, and a scanning circuit for obtaining the output characteristic segment with varying slope. A particular use of the control system is in an easy to operate autoregulating controlled GMA welding machine with one-knob control of wire feed rate without having to adjust the other welding parameters.
