  • Patent number: 9017073
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of a dental prophylaxis angle. One dental prophylaxis angle includes a body having a neck that defines a first axial bore and a head that defines a second axial bore, the first and second axial bores communicating at an intersection and being angularly-offset from each other, a drive gear rotatably mounted in the first axial bore and having a drive gear head and a locking flange axially-offset from the drive gear head, an annular locking groove being defined between the drive gear head and the locking flange, a driven gear rotatably mounted in the second axial bore and operatively coupled to the drive gear, and a gear retainer having an annular body configured to extend about an outer surface of the head, a heel extending from the annular body, an arm extending from the heel, and a wedge extending from the arm.

  • Publication number: 20150068041
Abstract: An example method of assembling a prophylaxis angle includes inserting a drive gear into a first axial bore defined within a neck of an angle body, the drive gear having a drive gear head and a locking flange axially-offset from the drive gear head. A driven gear is inserted into a second axial bore defined within a head of the angle body, the first and second axial bores being angularly-offset from each other and communicating at an intersection in the angle body. The body defines an opening that spans contiguous portions of both the neck and the head. The drive gear is coupled to the driven gear such that rotation of one rotates the other. A gear retainer is then installed on the head, the gear retainer having an annular body that defines an inner circumferential surface that extends about an outer surface of the head.

  • Patent number: 8411672
Abstract: For purposes of servicing emergency calls, such as 911 calls, a telephone number is associated with each edge router port used to provide IP service to a customer premise location. A telephone number is associated with the edge router port and the corresponding customer location. The telephone number and location information are stored in a database used for providing emergency calling party location information. When a switch used for routing IP calls detects a telephone call to an emergency call center it determines the edge router port from which the call was placed and the telephone number associated with the port for emergency call purposes. The call is then forwarded to the emergency call service center with the determined telephone number being supplied as the calling party number. Performing a lookup operation using the supplied telephone number the emergency service operator determines the location from which the call was placed.
