  • Publication number: 20110225329
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a method for simultaneously switching energy-saving modes of plural computer devices via a KVM switch including a CPU, a plurality of connection ports, a real-time clock (RTC) and a memory unit, wherein the memory unit stores a timetable containing at least one scheduled time and at least one corresponding energy-saving procedure each including a control instruction. The CPU reads the current time of the RTC and, after determining that the timetable contains a scheduled time corresponding to a current time, reads the control instruction in the energy-saving procedure corresponding to the scheduled time. Then, the CPU sends an energy-saving instruction to the computer device connected to each of the connection ports that are specified in the control instruction, thereby switching the energy-saving modes (e.g., a hibernation mode, sleep mode, OFF mode or ON mode) of the specified computer devices simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20110173355
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a method for setting and controlling a hot key area of a keyboard via a keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) switch electrically connected to the keyboard, a mouse, a monitor and a plurality of servers and provided therein with a flag and a hot key lookup table. When the KVM switch receives an instruction command for activating a direct hot key (DHK) state from the keyboard, the KVM switch sets the flag to an activated state for entering into the DHK state, and then sets a numeric key area and/or a function key area of the keyboard as a hot key area. Thus, when the KVM switch receives a management command matching with the hot key lookup table, the KVM switch executes a server switching procedure corresponding to the management command, thereby switching to a specified server and displaying a corresponding server image on the monitor.

  • Publication number: 20070165391
Abstract: A universal DIY kit for integrating a LCD keyboard mouse console, a rackmount KVM switch, and the consoles of a rack system is proposed. The universal DIY kit includes attachment brackets. The rackmount LCD keyboard mouse console is integrated with a generic rackmount KVM switch by attaching the universal DIY kit onto the rack system, screwing the universal DIY kit onto the generic rackmount KVM switch, and screwing onto rack system, in which one side of the attachment bracket is designed to allow the user to screw the attachment bracket onto the legs of the LCD keyboard mouse console, and the other side of the universal DIY kit is to hold the rackmount KVM switch. As a result, the cables between the LCD keyboard mouse console system and the rackmount KVM switch are become more organized.
