  • Patent number: 8044852
Abstract: Embodiments provided herein recite methods and systems for position determination based on hybrid pseudorange solution data. In one embodiment, navigation satellite system (NSS) pseudorange data is received for high yield pseudoranges. In addition, NSS pseudorange data is received for high accuracy pseudoranges. The high accuracy pseudoranges and selected ones of the high yield pseudoranges utilized by a hybrid PVT processor to determine a hybrid NSS-based location solution.

  • Patent number: 6549848
Abstract: An integrated position and direction system is disclosed that includes a digital compass and a satellite positioning system having a receiver adapted to receive satellite position determining signals. Signals that are received from satellites are used to determine position of the integrated position and direction system. The orientation of the satellites relative to the determined position and relative to the orientation of the integrated position and direction system is then determined. In one embodiment, direction determined using the digital compass is used to determine the orientation of the satellites relative to the determined position and relative to the orientation of the integrated position and direction system. Alternatively, heading is used to determine the orientation of the satellites relative to the determined position and relative to the orientation of the integrated position and direction system.

  • Patent number: 6353798
Abstract: An integrated position and direction system is disclosed that includes a digital compass, wherein the digital compass includes at least three sensors, and a satellite positioning system having a receiver adapted to receive satellite position determining signals. Direction is determined using the digital compass and heading is determined using the SATPOS. When the integrated position and direction system is moving, heading is indicated. When the integrated position and direction system is not moving direction is indicated. The integrated position and direction system automatically switches between the display of heading (when the integrated position and direction system is moving) and the display of direction (when the integrated position and direction system is not moving).
