  • Patent number: 6505641
Abstract: A device for an arrangement inside a fuel tank, provided with pumps and filters for supplying and filtering fuel that is fed to an internal combustion engine, whereby the fuel is conveyed from the bottom area of the tank through a first filter into a collector chamber and fuel is conveyed from said collector chamber by means of a second pump through a second filter to the internal combustion chamber. Both pumps are arranged in a pump unit. The collector chamber is arranged vertically above the pump unit and the filter with respect to the fitting position of the device and is embodied as an open overflow container, whereby the inventive device can be produced in a rational manner and offers good functionality.

  • Patent number: 6192869
Abstract: A fuel tank has a delivery unit which is arranged within the tank body and which has a reservoir. The delivery unit can be introduced into the tank body through a closable opening in the wall thereof. The tank further includes a filling level measuring device which is arranged outside the reservoir of the delivery unit and which can also be introduced into the tank body through the opening. The measuring device can be introduced into the tank body separately from the delivery unit and is held in its operative position by a holder mounted to the opening. The holder can be in the form of a ring mounted to the edge of the opening.

  • Patent number: 6176260
Abstract: A fuel tank for a motor vehicle, comprising a tank body with a smaller reservoir which is arranged therein and which is inserted into the tank body through a closable opening in the wall thereof, and joined thereto. The reservoir is deformable at least in portions of the wall defining same. After the reservoir has been at least partially inserted into the tank body, it undergoes a change in shape resulting in an increase in its volume within the tank body and a change in its cross-section such that the largest cross-section of the reservoir is larger than the cross-section of the opening of the wall in the tank body, that is available for insertion of the reservoir. The reservoir is defined at its ends by rigid components and the deformable wall portion of the reservoir is in the region between those components.

  • Patent number: 5951050
Abstract: The present invention is a system for storing and supplying a maximum amount of fuel from a fuel tank while maintaining a simple structure which is easy to gain access to and repair. The fuel tank structure includes a main fuel tank with an integral internal reservoir tank, a fuel pump, and primary and secondary fuel filters. The reservoir is permanently secured within the fuel tank and provides access, through a removable cover, to the fuel pump allowing efficient and cost effective maintenance to be performed whenever necessary. The system can be manufactured from a wide range of materials and is in compliance with the standards of the industry.
