Abstract: A fabric detwister cylinder apparatus is presented which will accommodate tubular fabrics having different dimensions without exchanging or replacing the detwister cylinder. The insert is placed within a standard detwister cylinder and is rigidly affixed thereto. A sinuous shape of the insert allows fabrics of various sizes to be sufficiently, frictionally engaged during process for imparting the required detwisting action thereto.

Abstract: A fabric detwister comprises a housing with a bi-directional rotating cylinder contained therein. A chain and sprocket or equivalent drive mechanism rotates the cylinder in either direction as needed to remove a twist previously imparted to a continuous, elongated, flaccid fabric. Gutters are positioned on either side of the frame in order to effectively drain fluid squeezed from the fabric by a series of non-powered and powered rollers. Air jets positioned proximate the non-powered rollers inflate the fabric causing it to impinge upon the interior surface of the cylinder to effectuate proper detwisting.

Abstract: A device for continuously imparting a predetermined twist to an elongated tubular shaped flaccid work piece composed of first and second sets of arcuate shaped spaced apart ribs delimiting a space having a funnel shaped portion, a moving device affixed to the first and second set capable of moving the first and second set of ribs in misalignment with one another, and a device for supplying gas under pressure to the space delimited by the first and second sets of ribs.

Abstract: A bleaching kier comprising a compartment of container into and out of which flaccid material is conveyed, in combination with (a) a control device for controlling the amount of elongated cloth being conveyed to the compartment, (b) a device for conveying the elongated cloth along a predetermined path without imparting a crease thereto, and (c) a device for removing a large portion of bleaching liquor from the elongated cloth prior to it being conveyed to a washer. The control device includes a drum with a plurality of upstanding members on its outer surface for engaging and conveying the elongated cloth to the compartment and a "U" shaped member, adapted to be moved from a first position, where the elongated cloth is in contact with the upstanding members, to a second position where the elongated cloth is not in contact therewith.
