  • Patent number: 8644811
Abstract: A method for facilitating a call session includes receiving a request to establish a call session between a wireless phone and a remote phone, and establishing a call session between the wireless phone and the remote phone. The call session includes a first connection with the wireless phone and a second connection with the remote phone. The method further includes monitoring the first connection to determine if there is a connection loss of the first connection, and determining that there is a connection loss of the first connection. In response to determining that there is a connection loss of the first connection, the method further includes holding the second connection with the remote phone, attempting to reestablish the first connection with the wireless phone, and resuming the call session in response to the first connection being reestablished.

  • Patent number: 8379661
Abstract: Methods and systems for customer premise equipment (CPE) to reverse the upstream speed and downstream speed of a network connection (e.g., ADSL connection) are described. The CPE is communicating with a network device via the network connection. Originally, the CPE's downstream speed with the network device significantly exceeds the CPE's upstream speed with the network device. A speed reversal signal is forwarded from the CPE to the network device. The signal requests the network device to reverse the CPE's downstream speed and upstream speed with the network device. The network device retrains the CPE. The CPE communicates with the retrained network device with an upstream speed that significantly exceeds the downstream speed.

  • Patent number: 7941435
Abstract: Techniques are provided for generating a hash value for searching for substrings in a data stream without reading more than one element (e.g. one byte) at a time. According to one technique, a before a next element is added to an old hash value, the old hash value is circularly shifted one or more bits. The first original element is shifted a number of bits and XOR'ed against the old hash value. The next element is added to the old hash value. In one embodiment, an entry value is retrieved for each element from an index table and the XOR and shift operations are performed on the entry values. According to another technique, each Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR) of a plurality of LFSRs read in one element at a time beginning at different offsets. Each LFSR uses the same state machine. The result of reading a number of elements into an LFSR is used as the hash value.

  • Publication number: 20030111587
Abstract: A scanning system capable of conducting black calibration with a fixed mask has a shell, a conveying module for driving an image capture module to a parallel movement, an image capture module for capturing image therefore transferred to digital signals, and a fixed mask for obstructing the light path in order to conduct the black calibration. The image capture module is driven by the conveying module and moved to a predetermined mask position. At the predetermined mask position, the mask may obstruct the light path. In this case, the scanning device is able to conduct the black calibration, provided a black calibration signal for adjustment purposes.

  • Patent number: 6073844
Abstract: A device for holding a charge couple device (CCD) in an optical scanner where optical alignment of the CCD to the position of scanned image of document can be easily made. The device includes a holder for holding a lens and providing a focused image taken from the scanned document; and a positioning element mounted on the holder for adapting a CCD to be slightly moved in a line along a longitudinal direction of the CCD and aligned with the focused image. The positioning element is furnished with a matching hole for carrying a bottom portion of the CCD. The positioning element mounted to the holder only needs one-dimensional adjustment in shifting which is easier and more effective.
