  • Publication number: 20130054134
Abstract: A telematics apparatus for providing driving assistance, and a system and a method are provided. The telematics apparatus receives position information indicating a current position of the telematics apparatus. The telematics apparatus transmits a request signal to the server. According to the request signal, the server obtains the position information, time information indicating a current time of the telematics apparatus, and identification information identifying a user of the telematics apparatus. The telematics apparatus displays driving assistance information received from the server which generates the driving assistance information according to the identification information, the position information, and the time information by searching through a route usage history of a plurality of routes and referring to a plurality of reference values of the routes. The reference value of each route indicates the telematics apparatus user's familiarity with that route.

  • Patent number: 6115686
Abstract: A system for converting a hyper text markup language (HTML) document to speech includes an HTML parser, an HTML to speech (HTS) control parser, a tag converter, a text normalizer and a TTS converter. The HTML parser receives data of an HTML formatted document and parses out content text, HTML text tags that structure the content text and control rules used only for translating the received data into sound. The HTS control parser parses control rules for converting the received data into sound. The HTS control parser modifies entries in one or more of a tag mapping table, an audio data table, a parameter set table, an enunciation modification table and a terminology translation table depending on each of the parsed control rules. The text normalizer modifies enunciation of each text string of the content text of the HTML document for which the enunciation modification table has an entry, according to an enunciation modification indicated in the respective enunciation table entry.

  • Patent number: 5404469
Abstract: A static interleaving technique solves the problem of resource contention in a very long instruction word multi-threaded microprocessor architecture. In the static interleaving technique, each function unit in the processor is allocated for the execution of an instruction from a particular thread in a fixed predetermined time slot in a repeating pattern of predetermined time slots. The fixed predetermined pattern of time slots represents the resource constraints imposed on the hardware to resolve the contention for computing resources among the instruction threads. The strategy of resource allocation is exposed to a parallel compiler which organizes a sequence of instructions into the horizontal instruction words which form each thread so as to maintain the data dependencies among the instructions and to take into account the fixed predetermined allocation of hardware resources.
