    Abstract: A hierarchical broadcasting device and method are disclosed. In the hierarchical broadcasting method, a broadcast transmitting device may transmit lower layer broadcast data for an existing broadcast to a broadcast receiving device via a first communication network, and may transmit upper layer broadcast data for an improved broadcast to the broadcast receiving device via a second communication network. In this instance, the broadcast receiving device combines the lower layer broadcast data and the upper layer broadcast data in order to display the improved broadcast.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a hierarchical broadcasting system and method for 3D broadcasting. A hierarchical 3D image broadcasting method comprises: allowing a broadcast transmission system to transmit first broadcast data for an existing broadcast to a broadcast reception system via a first communication network; and allowing the broadcast transmission system to transmit second broadcast data for 3D image broadcasting to the broadcast reception system via a second communication network. At this point, the broadcast reception system enables the first and second broadcast data to be combined in order to display a 3D image broadcast.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a method of encoding a division block in video encoding and a method of decoding a division block in video decoding. An input picture is divided into encoding unit blocks. The coding unit (CU) blocks are divided into sub-CU blocks. The sub-CU blocks are encoded by selectively using at least one of intra prediction encoding and inter prediction encoding. A decoding process is performed through a reverse process of the encoding method. When pixel values of a CU block are encoded in video encoding, the flexibility in selecting an encoding mode is increased and the efficiency of encoding is increased.

    Abstract: The system of the present invention guarantees quality of service with respect to packets transmitted/received between an external network capable of providing differentiated services and a home network. The system includes a packet classifier, a marker, a priority class queue, a scheduler and a token bucket. The packet classifier classifies the packets according to addresses and traffic types. The marker allocates information on priorities to packets transmitted from the home network to the external network. The priority class queue has a plurality of queues classified according to the priorities. The scheduler services packets stored in the priority class queue according to the priorities. The token bucket drops packets, bandwidths of which are above a preset maximum bandwidth, when the packets are generated.

    Abstract: In the adaptive connection admission control method of the present invention, a corresponding ingress edge node performs connection admission control for a new connection within the amount of bandwidth initially allocated to each of paths between the ingress and egress edge nodes. The amount of remaining bandwidth allocated to a specific path Pr is compared with an amount of bandwidth required for a call requesting new connection setup input to the corresponding ingress edge node. The amount of additional bandwidth to be requested from the bandwidth broker is predicted when the amount of the remaining bandwidth does not satisfy the amount of bandwidth required for the connection setup requesting call. The ingress edge node requests additional bandwidth from the bandwidth broker on the basis of the predicted amount of the additional bandwidth, changing bandwidth information of the corresponding path Pr, and performing connection admission control.
