  • Publication number: 20220272686
Abstract: Repetition coding is performed on control channel information to generate a plurality of encoded control channel signals, which are then transmitted using time-frequency resource-element groups. The time-frequency resource-element groups include orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in a time domain and frequency subcarriers in a frequency domain. The plurality of encoded control channel signals are transmitted separately from each other in the frequency domain when one of the OFDM symbols is used for transmitting the plurality of encoded control channel signals. At least two of the plurality of encoded control channel signals are transmitted using one or more resource-element groups and the at least two of the plurality of encoded control channel signals are transmitted separately from each other in the frequency domain when two of the OFDM symbols are used for transmitting.

  • Patent number: 11356982
Abstract: A symbol mapping method for repetition coding is disclosed. The symbol mapping method comprises performing repetition coding on codeword to output repeated codeword symbols, and mapping the repeated codeword symbols with subcarriers located in different localized resource blocks. According to the embodiments of the present invention, it is possible to obtain maximum reliability in a receiving side by mapping codeword bits with subcarriers to reduce the number of bits having low reliability when a transmitting side uses repetition coding. Also, it is possible to improve decoding throughput and obtain channel diversity.

  • Patent number: 11067664
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining positions of indoor localization beacons without requiring a physical site survey. In a coarse positioning method, a mobile node receives beacon signals that identify rooms (such as stores in a shopping mall) in which the beacons are located. The mobile node obtains floor plan information relating to the building and estimates beacon locations based on the floor plan and beacon signal strength. The estimated beacon locations may be arranged in a predetermined geometric pattern based on the number of beacons in a room. In a fine positioning method, a mobile node recognizes its proximity to a beacon and responsively measures the distance to other beacons. Estimated beacon positions may be used to estimate the location of the mobile node using trilateration or other techniques.

  • Patent number: 11018794
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting or detecting primary synchronization signal. The receiver receives primary synchronization signal from a transmitter, and detects the sequence used in the received primary synchronization signal by using three root indexes. Here, the primary synchronization signal is generated by using a Zadoff-Chu sequence having one of the three root indexes. The three root indexes comprise a first index and a second index, and a sum of the first index and the second index corresponds to the length of the Zadoff-Chu sequence.

  • Patent number: 10863159
Abstract: Systems and methods described that provide for sending a first temporal portion of video to a client, wherein video quality of a first spatial region associated with a first direction of view is sent with higher quality than video data for another spatial region not associated with the first direction of view; sending a second temporal portion of the video to the client; and responsive to determining that a significant event, audio or video or a combination, occurred during the second temporal portion and corresponds with a second direction of view that is associated with a second spatial region, sending higher quality video for the second spatial region than video data for another spatial region. Virtual reality (VR) video, including 360-degree VR video may thus be foveated, based on contextual information in the video data and corresponding audio data, combined with field of view predictions based upon user motion.

  • Publication number: 20200349490
Abstract: Technologies are provided for context-based instruction delivery to field agents. In some examples, one or more context-sensitive criteria may be extracted from an instruction contained in a message. The message and the criteria may then be transmitted to multiple field agent devices. In response to receiving the message and the criteria, a field agent device may determine whether a legitimate agent is present and the criteria are satisfied. If a legitimate agent is present and the criteria are satisfied, then the agent device may provide the instruction in the message to the legitimate agent. On the other hand, if a legitimate agent is not present, or if the device and/or agent fail the criteria, then the device may ignore the instruction.

  • Patent number: 10753906
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining a material of an object using sound. Exemplary methods employ a head-mounted display (HMD). In an embodiment, the method includes determining, using a depth camera function of the HMD, a distance to an object; emitting, using a speaker of the AR HMD, a generated sound signal; and responsive to emitting the sound signal, detecting a reflected sound signal. Relative to the emitted sound signal, the HMD determines attenuation levels for a temporal portion of the reflected sound signal for at least two frequency ranges of the reflected sound signal, the temporal portion of the reflected sound signal corresponding to a computed round-trip travel time of the sound signal traveling the determined distance to and from the object. Based upon the determined attenuation levels, the determines a material corresponding to the attenuation levels.
