Abstract: A method and device for obtaining media description information of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) services are provided. The method includes: receiving, by a network device, a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) request for obtaining media description information, where the SIP request is sent by a User Equipment (UE) through a core IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and carries a content identifier; sending, by the network device, a SIP response that carries the media description information corresponding to the content identifier to the UE through the core IMS. According to the present disclosure, a SIP message is used to obtain media description information, so that a session of the Content on Demand (CoD) service is set up.

The present invention can be applied to a NGN network where the carrier and control are separated to improve the media delivery efficiency.

Abstract: A method, a system, a security device, a service control device, and a communication terminal for providing a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service are provided. The method includes the following steps: A service control module in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) system carries out service authorization according to a service authorization request, and obtains an authorization-passed result. The service control module sends the authorization-passed result to a security module. The security module obtains the authorization-passed result and then sends a service decryption code of the MBMS service to UEs. In the present invention, a controlling capacity of an IMS and a bearer capacity of an MBMS are multiplexed based on an IMS system and an MBMS system to achieve IPTV services, so as to achieve the uniform authorization and uniform network management.

The service discovery unit may send the streaming service information to the UE automatically according to the information of the UE accessing the IMS network, without requiring requests from the UE or the address of the EPG generating unit.

Abstract: An IMS-based media resource scheduling method includes: initiating a media resource request by an Application Server (AS) to a media routing functional entity; determining a media server by the media routing functional entity; and routing the media resource request to the determined media server. The disclosure also provides an IMS-based media resource scheduling system, a Media Resource Locating Function (MRLF), a Media Resource Broker Function (MRBF), and a Media Resource Function Controller (MRFC). According to the disclosure, the media resource scheduling process is implemented and the user's QoS requirement is satisfied by selecting a suitable one from at least one media server for providing stream media service to the UE.
