Abstract: A process for preparing microcapsules which comprises dispersing a hydrophobic oily liquid in a continuous aqueous phase, the hydrophobic oily liquid containing a pre-wall former and at least one chain extender, the chain extender being a polyhydric compound which is capable of reacting with the pre-wall former at a rate such that the chain extender does not substantially react with the pre-wall former prior to dispersing the hydrophobic oily liquid in the continuous aqueous phase; and forming capsule walls around the droplets of hydrophobic oily liquid in the continuous aqueous phase.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for preparing microcapsules which comprises:preparing an aqueous dispersion or emulsion of a hydrophobic oily core material containing a polyvalent isocyanate, a polyvalent isothiocyanate, or an adduct thereof, having an anionic moiety; andforming capsule walls around the droplets of said oily core material.

Abstract: A process for producing microcapsules comprising the steps of: adding a hydroxy or amine functionalized acrylic resin or copolymer to an aqueous emulsion including a dispersed internal phase composition;simultaneously or subsequently adding a formaldehyde condensate prepolymer to said emulsion; andforming interpenetrating polymer network microcapsule walls around said internal phase, said interpenetrating polymer network microcapsule walls comprising the condensation reaction product of said functionalized acrylic resin or copolymer and said formaldehyde condensate prepolymer is disclosed.
