  • Patent number: 8433279
Abstract: A specific code indicative of a specific request is used to provide a communication device with an ability to send specific calls, such as emergency calls and silent calls, and the ability to distinguish the specific calls from the received calls. A method of sending a call includes generating a specific code indicative of a specific request, adding the specific code to a call, and then sending the call to a receiver for notifying the receiver of the specific request. A method of receiving a call includes determining whether a received call comprises a specific code indicative of a specific request, and generating an indication in response to the specific request when the received call is determined to comprise the specific code.

  • Patent number: 8155636
Abstract: Methods for remotely controlling a mobile station by a controller are provided. An embodiment of a method performed by the mobile station comprises the following steps. An action request comprising a remote control instruction issued by the controller is received. The remote control instruction is acquired from the received action request. The remote control instruction is executed to activate or deactivate a particular function resident on the mobile station or return data stored by the mobile station. The action request is received through a wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20080280599
Abstract: A mobile communication terminal is provided. A storage unit stores a disconnect cause associated with caller information. A communication unit receives an incoming call. A controller determines whether the incoming call is associated with the caller information, disconnects the incoming call if the incoming call is associated with the caller information, and sends a disconnect message indicating the disconnect cause to a network station relaying the incoming call.

  • Publication number: 20080279176
Abstract: A protocol is proposed for a mobile station to transmit Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) to another mobile station. When a user presses a key on a source mobile station, which is connected to a target mobile station, DTMF data are transmitted via a digital channel to a base station first. Instead of converting the received DTMF data to a corresponding analog voice to the target mobile station, the base station forwards the DTMF data to the target station via a digital channel. The target mobile station parses the DTMF data and activates certain operation in response to the key pressed by the user.
