Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and systems for providing gas-sensitive substrates are disclosed herein. An example apparatus may comprise: a gas-sensitive substrate at least partially disposed within a gas flow channel of the gas detecting apparatus, wherein at least a portion of the gas-sensitive substrate is treated to mimic stain characteristics produced by at least one interferent gaseous substance, and the gas-sensitive substrate is configured to produce a stain in response to making contact with at least one target gaseous substance disposed within the gas flow channel.

Abstract: A substrate such as a porous tape coated with an adsorbent and impregnated with a processing solution which includes a silver salt, an organic acid such as benzenetricarboxylic acid or benzenesulfonic acid (with or without the addition of nitric acid) and a glycol is a sensitive detecting means for hydride gases and is stable upon exposure to light.
