  • Publication number: 20160253462
Abstract: A patient appointment schedule is generated for an open access time window (typically a single day). A no show likelihood is assigned for each time slot based on past patient no show (missed appointment) information, and time slots whose no show likelihood exceeds a threshold are designated as open access time slots. The patient appointment schedule is displayed. During scheduling, an unfilled time slot may be allocated to a patient so as to be converted to a tilled time slot, or conversely a filled time slot may be deallocated so that the filled time slot is converted to an unfilled time slot. However, unfilled open access time slots are allocated to patients only during the open access time window, so as to accommodate patients who should be seen on the same day they call.

  • Patent number: 9279938
Abstract: A dual band color filter includes a periodic arrangement of metallic dots in a middle transparent medium, having an index of refraction, interposed between a first and a second transparent medium, each having an index of refraction greater than the middle transparent medium index of refraction. The filter accepts visible spectrum light. In response to the periodic arrangement of metallic dots, a surface plasmon mode is generated. In response to a diameter common to all the metallic dots, a local mode is generated, and in response to the combination of the middle, first, and second transparent medium indices of refraction, a waveguide mode is generated. As a result, two distinct wavelength bands of visible spectrum light are transmitted through the bottom surface of the dual band color filter, while attenuating one wavelength band of visible spectrum light.

  • Publication number: 20150063748
Abstract: A dual hand color filter includes a periodic arrangement of metallic dots in a middle transparent medium, having index of refraction, interposed between a first and a second transparent medium, each having an index of refraction greater than the middle transparent medium index of refraction. As a result, two distinct wavelength hands of visible spectrum light are transmitted through the bottom surface of the dual band color filter, while attenuating one wavelength band of visible spectrum light.

  • Patent number: 8921839
Abstract: A method is provided for fabricating an organic light emitting device (OLED) with a spherical back mirror. The method forms a spherical curvature in the substrate and deposits a metal film overlying the spherical curvature, forming a spherical back mirror. A transparent isolation layer is formed overlying the spherical back mirror having a planar top surface. A transparent first electrode layer is formed overlying the isolation layer, and a transparent second electrode layer is formed overlying the first electrode layer. A stack is interposed between the first and second electrode layers. The stack is made up of an electron transport layer adjacent the cathode, a light-emitting (electron injection) layer adjacent to the electron transport layer, a hole transport layer adjacent to the light-emitting layer, and a hole injection layer adjacent to the hole transport layer. The order of the stack layering is dependent which electrode is the anode.

  • Patent number: 8873827
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments enable determination of spatial proximity between two or more features in biological tissue. An exemplary method includes identifying a morphological feature in an image of the biological tissue based on expression levels of a first biomarker indicative of the morphological feature, and receiving a result of a segmentation analysis performed on the image of the biological tissue identifying a set of morphological units in the image external to the morphological feature. An exemplary method includes determining an expression level of a second biomarker corresponding to each unit in the set of morphological units in the image of the biological tissue, and determining a spatial distance between the morphological feature and each unit in the set of morphological units.

  • Publication number: 20090186350
Abstract: A Multiform Suspension Microgranular Bioreactor (MSMB) is used to detect nucleic acids or peptides/proteins in molecular and biological samples. Polymer-based microgranules, coupled with biomass molecule probes, are constructed with different features. The biomass molecule probes include cDNA probes, oligonucleic acid probes, peptide or protein probes. These microgranules are differentiated according to their features including shape, size, color, fluorescence intensity, magnetic property, gravity, chemical luminal intensity, radioactivity, and other labels. The above microgranules are suspended in a sample solution and are used collectively as a microarray-like bioreactor device. Such MSMB-based microarrays are particularly useful in complicated biological detection assays with flow cytometry.
