  • Publication number: 20160327793
Abstract: An autofocus head mounted display device is provided, including an imager and an eyeball tracker. The imager includes a display element, an optical element and a controller. An image light is projected to one of the eyeballs of the user by the display element. The convergence or divergence of the image light is adjusted by the optical element through the controller. The image is presented at an imaging position in front of the eyeballs of the user. The eyeball tracker is disposed at the position in front of the user's eyes. Both left eye and right eye rotational angles are detected simultaneously, so as to determine a focus position of the user's eyes. The eyeball tracker is connected to the controller. The optical element is adjusted by comparing the imaging position and the focus position, and the imaging position of the image is moved to the focus position.

  • Patent number: 6318863
Abstract: An illumination device and an image projection apparatus having the same. The illumination device has a light source with multiple light emitting devices and an uniform illuminating means evenly distributed in front of the light source. The light emitted from the light source can thus uniformly project on a light valve. In addition, a polarization converter is used to convert the light into a usable polarization type, so as to increase the illumination efficiency. The image projection apparatus basically has three of the above mentioned illumination devices to emit three elementary color lights projecting onto a screen.

  • Patent number: 6254246
Abstract: An illumination device and an image display apparatus using the same. The illumination device comprising a light source, an illumination uniformizing device, and a polarization converter. The image display apparatus comprises an illumination device provided in the invention, a synthesizing means, and a projection means. The illumination uniformizing device has an incident plane for receiving a light emitted from the light source. Opposite the incident plane, a mirror is used as a side plane of the illumination uniformizing device to reflect the light coming from the incident plane. A bottom plane at a lower side and projection plane at an upper side of the incident plane are disposed between the incident plane and the side plane. A scattering pattern gradually condensed from the incident side toward the side plane is formed on the bottom plane, so that the light incident from the incident plane is made uniform.

  • Patent number: 6124952
Abstract: A magnification-variation scanner modifies the resolution merely by changing the object distance and the image distance, with a constant focal distance. The scanner includes a light source, an object lens, an image detector, a holder for carrying the object lens, an optical path delay and a driver. The optical path delay can be located at the midway of the light path from the light source to the object lens, thereby modifying the optical path between the object surface and the object lens. In accompaniment with the movement of the object lens, the dimensions of the image projected over the image detector can be modified. The resolution can therefore be modified. The driver connects between the holder and the optical path delay.
