    Abstract: During pairing between a connecting device and a server, cryptographic information of the connecting device is mapped to symbols and displayed, in a random sequence, on the connecting device. An operator, who is authorizing the connecting device to establish a trusted connection to the server, is provided the symbols in a different sequence from the random sequence. The operator is asked to put the symbols into the random sequence, a candidate validation code is generated from the operator-provided sequence and confirmed by the connecting device when an actual validation code generated by the connecting device for the random sequence matches the candidate validation code. The entropy/effort entered by operator is smaller than entropy of the underlying cryptographic information, but the full extent of the underlying cryptographic information is reliably verified by the operator action.

    Abstract: An import job associated with a data store update is inspected and schemas associated with target data tables that are to be updated with update data are analyzed. Referential integrity issues associated with foreign keys in the target tables are identified in the update data. The update data is broken into three portions, a first portion that is guaranteed to not have a referential integrity issue, a second portion this is known to have a referential integrity issue, and a third portion that cannot be determined at this stage of processing. The import job is modified to update the corresponding target tables with the first portion of the update data while the second and third portions are not updated to the target data base tables but a custom message is recorded in fields associated with the second and third portions that describes the issue for subsequent review/resolution.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the production of butylacetate by esterification of acetic acid with butanol in the presence of a solid acidic catalyst in which distillatory separation of components runs simultaneously with esterification. Thus, acetic acid and butanol are introduced in defined amounts and in the molar ratio 1:1 to 1:10 into a system, in which the reaction and the distillatory separation proceeds in three zones. The reaction together with distillatory separation of the components with different boiling points run in the reaction zone, while only distillation takes place in lower and upper separation zones. A volatile mixture is separated in the upper separation zone, from which, after being cooled at 5 to 80° C., water and organic phases are separated, the latest being refluxed into the system. The ratio of the feed amount to the organic phase reflux amount is 1:1 to 1:20, the reflux amount representing 60 to 100% of the whole amount of the organic phase.
