  • Patent number: 7698856
Abstract: A glass run mounted along an inner part of a door frame of a vehicle door to guide a window glass which moves up and down within the door frame. A main body portion of the glass run is provided with an exterior side wall, an interior side wall and a bottom wall, thereby formed into a shape having a substantially U-shaped cross section. An exterior seal lip and an interior seal lip are provided so as to extend into an inside of the substantially U-shaped cross section from distal portions of the exterior side wall and the interior side wall, respectively. The bottom wall has a bottom wall damping lip which is formed so as to be inclined inwardly from one of side end portions of an inner surface of the bottom wall. A space which is provided between an outer surface of the bottom wall portion and a door frame. A cushion material is provided in the space.

  • Patent number: 7487615
Abstract: A run channel in an automobile door includes a U-shaped run channel body. An inner lip extends from a bottom end portion of an inner wall of the run channel body towards a peak portion. An upper lip is formed above the inner lip and extends from an intermediate portion of the inner wall to the peak portion. When a door glass abuts on the inner lip, the door glass presses the inner lip towards the inner wall to cause a distal end portion of the inner lip to press on the upper lip, whereby a reaction force of the upper lip is applied to the distal end portion of the inner lip. The inner lip in turn produces a reaction force slowing upward movement of the door glass, causing its upper edge to slowly abut on the peak portion of the run channel, thus reducing a glass striking sound.

  • Patent number: 7392618
Abstract: A door for a vehicle includes a run channel and a door glass slidable up and down along the run channel. A rear edge of the door glass, which is in sliding contact with a rear channel of the run channel, has respective projecting portions at upper and lower end portions thereof. The projecting portions project more than a middle portion of the rear edge positioned centrally in an up-and-down direction of the rear edge. The rear edge is deeply received in a groove formed in the rear channel not throughout the length thereof but at the projecting portions so as to reduce a slide resistance which the door glass undergoes when sliding relative to the run channel.

  • Patent number: 7052745
Abstract: An optically anisotropic sheet comprises an optically anisotropic layer, an orientation layer and a transparent support in this order. The optically anisotropic layer is formed from discotic liquid crystal molecules. The orientation layer is subjected to rubbing treatment. The discotic liquid crystal molecules are aligned with the orientation layer. An average inclined angle of discotic planes of the discotic liquid crystal molecules is in the range of 50° to 90°. An average direction of optical axes of the discotic liquid crystal molecules is essentially parallel to a rubbing direction of the orientation layer.

  • Patent number: 4403954
Abstract: An apparatus for heat-treating pipes comprising a furnace chamber for accommodating a plurality of pipes as arranged in parallel, a chain conveyor disposed in the furnace chamber for transporting the pipes in a direction at right angles to the axes of the pipes, and a plurality of stopper means for stopping the pipes intermittently at suitably spaced-apart positions in the path of transport by the chain conveyor and causing each of the pipes to rotate about its own axis in cooperation with the chain conveyor. Since the pipe is intermittently stopped and rotated about its own axis during heat treatment, the pipe is free of thermal deformation to an elliptical shape. Pipes can be heat-treated in succession in a small space, therefore with a very high efficiency. The motion of the chain conveyor is utilized for rotating the pipe without necessitating any additional device for the rotation.
