  • Patent number: 9388086
Abstract: In accordance with the present embodiment, a method for making an optical ceramic comprises depositing a plurality of thin layers of powder. The powder comprises a first optical material powder having a first dopant level, and a second optical material powder. The first and second optical material powders are deposited for each layer based on the first dopant level and according to data associated with a three-dimensional (3D) compositional profile design of an optical ceramic. The method further comprises binding the first and second optical material powders of each thin layer to each other and each thin layer with an adjacent layer such that a green state optical ceramic is produced based on the 3D compositional profile design. The method further comprises densifying the green state optical ceramic to obtain the optical ceramic.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 4, 2011
Date of Patent: July 12, 2016
    Assignee: RAYTHEON COMPANY
Inventors: Jiyun C. Imholt, Richard L. Gentilman, Thomas M. Hartnett

  • Publication number: 20100263199
Abstract: A method of fabricating an array of radiating elements includes on one layer or surface of a dielectric substrate, forming a first leg of a first resonator loop, on another layer or surface of the dielectric substrate forming a second leg of the first resonator loop between adjacent radiating elements, forming a via through the dielectric substrate, and metallizing the via forming a third leg of the first resonator loop interconnecting the first and second legs.

  • Patent number: 7773033
Abstract: A multilayer metamaterial isolator and method of fabricating the same. A first layer or surface of a multilayer dielectric substrate includes a first leg of a first resonator loop. A second layer or surface of the multilayer dielectric substrate includes a second leg of the first resonator loop. A third leg of the first resonator loop extends through the multilayer dielectric substrate interconnecting the first and second legs of the first resonator loop.
