  • Publication number: 20040045182
Abstract: The invention relates to a position measuring system for scanning a movement between a first element and a second element which is arranged in a moveable manner in relation to the first element. Said system comprises a material measure which can be fixed to the first element and has a scale carrier, and a scanning head which can be fixed to the second element and which scans a movement of the material measure in relation to the scanning head. The inventive system comprises a mount by which means the material measure and the scanning head can be fixed to each other in a pre-determined position, the scanning head being detachably fixed to the scale carrier. In order to assembly one such position measuring system on a first element and a second element moving in relation thereto, the scanning head is fixed to the material measure in such a way that the scanning head and the material measure are mutually fixed in position.

  • Patent number: 6662131
Abstract: A device and method for conditioning a periodic analog signal to predetermined positive and negative desired peak values. The signal is adjusted using multiplicative correcting steps, which modifies the signal amplitude. An additive correcting step adds to the signal, a constant which adjusts the signal level in a positive or negative direction. Upon detection of a current actual peak value, the difference between the actual peak value and the predetermined desired peak value is stepwise reduced by repeated adjustments of the signal using modifying steps within a part of a period of the signal, each modifying step includes exactly one multiplication and exactly one additive correcting step.

  • Publication number: 20020097080
Abstract: A method is disclosed for conditioning a periodic analog signal (SIN, COS) to predetermined, positive and negative desired peak values by adjusting the signal (SIN, COS) using multiplicative correcting steps, which increase or decrease the signal amplitude, and additive correcting steps, adding to the signal a constant which adjusts the signal level in a positive or negative direction, wherein the presence of a current actual peak value is detected said method providing that the difference between the actual peak value and the predetermined desired peak value is stepwise reduced by repeated adjustment of the signal (SIN, COS) using modifying steps within a part of a period of the signal (SIN, COS), each modifying step including exactly one multiplicative and exactly one additive correcting step.

  • Patent number: 6390161
Abstract: A process is disclosed for cutting logs to form large-surface wood chips, in which, on the one hand, a rotating knife ring provided with cutting knives which are oriented parallel to its axis of rotation and, on the other hand, a quantity of logs which are likewise oriented parallel to the axis of rotation of the knife ring are moved toward one another and the logs are cut. A device for carrying out this process is also disclosed. In a device of the type mentioned above, the movement of the knife ring directed to the logs and/or the movement of the logs directed to the knife ring is carried out on a curved path at least during the cutting process. In this way, individual chip sectors are “compressed”, while others are “expanded” in such a way that there is a greater proportion of chips whose quality lies within the predetermined tolerance.

  • Patent number: 6345206
Abstract: The method according to the present invention is used for automatically configuring a fuzzy automatic-control device, in the form of generating transformation criteria. These transformation criteria preferably have change, stop, jump-back and reset rules for the individual states of the fuzzy automatic-control device that represent recognition probabilities. The method allows transformation criteria for configuring fuzzy automatic-control devices to be produced fully automatically by the arithmetic logic unit. Even if the pattern signals change frequently, the fuzzy automatic-control device can thus be reconfigured quickly, flexibly and without complications.

  • Patent number: 6293021
Abstract: In a process for arranging an angle scale at an index disk for rotational measurement systems, wherein the index disk is provided with a central opening for mounting on a carrier shaft, a clamping device which deforms elastically in the radial direction when the index disk is mounted on the carrier shaft is arranged in the opening, the index disk is subsequently mounted on a reference shaft and the angle scale is then arranged on the index disk so as to be exactly centered with respect to the center axis (A—A) of the reference shaft. The index disk formed in this way accordingly has a clamping device along the circumference of the central opening, which clamping device is deformed elastically in the radial direction when the index disk is mounted on the carrier shaft, contacts the outer surface of the carrier shaft accompanied by tension and, in doing so, centers the index disk in its mounted state relative to the carrier shaft.

  • Patent number: 6108925
Abstract: A length measurement system for measuring the relative position of two objects in a given measuring direction comprises a scale carrier which carries a measurement scale and which is fastened to a first of the two objects and a scanning head which scans the measurement scale at a scanning location and is fastened to the second of the two objects. The scale carrier is constructed so as to be stiff in the longitudinal direction but can deflect in a springing manner vertical to the measuring direction and is fastened by only one of its ends to the first object, while its other end projects freely. The scale carrier is positively guided in the region of the scanning head.
