  • Patent number: 4217119
Abstract: An air filtering system for large installations such as spinning machine rooms, textile factories, etc., has a rotating drum with permeable walls through which air is aspirated to the interior of the drum while the accumulated contaminants are removed during the rotation of the drum by a reciprocating vacuum cleaner. In order to protect the bearings of the drum and the drive mechanism from contact with uncleaned air, the drum is carried by rollers which contact only the interior surface of the drum. The drive motor and transmission are also placed inside the drum.

  • Patent number: 4180390
Abstract: The air used in the various operations of a general textile machine is cleaned prior to being returned to the factory space containing the machine by two sequential mechanisms, the first of which is a fiber separator which removes from the air relatively large contaminants such as fibers, pieces of thread, etc., and which transports these remnants to an outlet trap via a rotating conveyor screw. The second mechanism is a dust separator including at least one dust filter bag through which air is forced to pass inwardly, thereby trapping airborne dust on the surfaces of the filter. The accumulated dust on the filter is removed by periodic application of compressed air to the interior of the dust filter bag.

  • Patent number: 4162148
Abstract: A filtering apparatus for the filtering of fibers and equivalent material from flowing air, and in particular for use in textile operations, has been invented in which the fiber material is firmly compacted so that as much fiber material as possible may be accommodated in a given volume of a collecting container attached to the filtering apparatus. For this purpose the filtering apparatus has a hollow fiber filtering assembly into which the flowing air is guided, a conveyor screw and a motor to drive the conveyor screw toward an outlet of the filtering assembly. The filtering assembly also includes at least one filter, with the outlet located downstream in the direction of movement of the fiber material, and at least one braking component located near the outlet which serves to brake the motion of the fiber material induced by the conveyor screw and to compact the fiber material firmly.

  • Patent number: 4134745
Abstract: An air cleaning apparatus for purifying the air in machine rooms, etc., has a filter box and a primary air conveyor therein. When dust and impurities have accumulated on the upstream side of the filter, the normal clean air outlet is closed and the clean air stream is re-directed back onto the filter, thereby tending to dislodge the mat of impurities adhering to the other side. At the same time, a second air conveyor is activated to aspirate air at least partly from the interior of the filter box, thereby carrying along the dislodged mat of impurities for disposal downstream of the second air conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4107910
Abstract: A double twisting machine is equipped with air flow control devices which create preferred conditions in the vicinity of each twisting station and, particularly, in the immediate vicinity of the twisting mechanism and the thread balloons. Pre-conditioned air, adjusted for temperature and humidity, is delivered through a nozzle located above each twisting spindle and is directed generally to the location of the thread guide loop. The protective container for the bobbin has a lower opening which permits the air flowing into the container from the top to emerge below where an exhaust conduit carries it away. A coaxial shroud surrounds the protective container and forms an annular air passage through which conditioned air may flow in both directions.

  • Patent number: 3998039
Abstract: A method for open-end spinning according to which discrete fibers are fed into the interior of a rotor located in a spinning chamber and deposited in a fiber groove of the rotor. The fibers are thereafter drawn out of the spinning chamber as twisted fibers formed into a thread. The air which flows into the interior of the rotor is evacuated from the spinning chamber by suction. The apparatus of the invention is arranged so that the spinning chamber has at least one air outlet opening through which air flowing into the interior of the rotor leaves the spinning chamber. The outlet is located in the cover portion of a housing and is connected to an air suction device by at least one air channel.

  • Patent number: 3951623
Abstract: In a filter box a first air flow generating unit drives air, containing solid impurities, through a filter disposed upstream of said unit. Without interrupting the drawing of impure air into the filter box, the filter is periodically cleaned by drawing auxiliary air through the clean side of the filter by a second air flow generating unit for dislodging and carrying away impurities accumulated on the work side of the filter. The drawing of impure air into the filter box is effected by the second air flow generating unit during the periodic cleaning operation.
