The display may be disposed (e.g., mounted) on the exterior of the front surface such that the front surface is visible through the transparent display. Alternatively, the transparent display may be disposed in or behind an aperture in the front surface of the home appliance. In this instance, a trim plate having an appearance that matches the front surface of the home appliance is mounted behind the transparent display, and the trim plate is visible through the transparent display.

The first sensor is used to cause the door to move from the closed position to the open position. The second sensor is used to cause the door to move from the open position to the closed position.
