  • Patent number: 7739193
Abstract: Techniques for displaying a graphical user interface operable to receive user input specifying payments to be made are described. Each payment identifies a payee and a payment method to be used to make the payment. The techniques include making a determination as to whether any of the specified payments involve a payment method that uses a third-party on-line payment system. In response to a determination that a specified payment involves a payment method that uses a third-party on-line payment system, a message is sent to the third-party on-line payment system. The message includes payment information for specified payments to be paid by the third-party on-line payment system such that the third-party on-line payment system is able to process the specified payments.

  • Patent number: 7596519
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for assisting a user in clearing payments against vouchers in a financial system. A payment requiring user attention may be displayed to the user in an interface of the financial system. The financial system may automatically suggest at least one voucher to balance the payment. The user may also select at least one voucher to balance the payment from a plurality of available vouchers. If the difference between the payment and the combined total of the selected vouchers equals zero, the financial system may allow the user to clear the payment against the selected vouchers. If the system-suggested vouchers are not the ones the user would choose for clearing the payment, the financial system may allow the user to select vouchers to clear the payment.

  • Publication number: 20080162340
Abstract: Techniques for displaying a graphical user interface operable to receive user input specifying a payment to be made to a payee and a payment method to be used to make the payment are described. The payment method is one of multiple ways of making the payment using the graphical user interface. The techniques include making a determination as to whether the specified payment method involves a third-party on-line payment system. In response to a determination that the specified payment method involves a third-party on-line payment system, a message is provided to the third-party on-line payment system. The message includes payment information such that the third-party on-line payment system is able to process the payment to pay the payee. In response to a determination that the specified payment method involves a payment system other than a third-party on-line payment system, the specified method to pay the payee is initiated.
