  • Patent number: 6527427
Abstract: A device for setting the distance between a first and a second component, in particular for the horizontal and vertical setting of motor vehicle headlamps, includes a setting screw which is connected to the first component, and which engages the second component. The drive for the setting screw has a slipping clutch that prevents overadjustment of the distance setting device after a maximum torque is reached. The slipping clutch prevents the transmission of torque to the setting screw by slipping, and thereby prevents damage to the distance setting device.

  • Patent number: 5953913
Abstract: A system for an electro-hydraulic pressure supply for a power-assist device in a motor vehicle in which, by a pump which is arranged in an oil-filled container and driven by an electric motor, the oil is conducted through an outlet opening to the power-assist device and returned from the power-assist device via a return opening into the container. A shaft of the electric motor is coupled with a shaft of the pump. In order to provide an arrangement for an electro-hydraulic pressure supply for power-assist devices which can be used also in small structural units, the shaft of the electric motor and the shaft of the pump are coupled in a central bearing.

  • Patent number: 5801539
Abstract: A moisture sensor has two spaced main electrodes which are arranged on the outer side of the windshield of a motor vehicle in a region which is passed over by the windshield wiper and are connected to an evaluation circuit for the determination of resistance as a function of a degree of moisture. In order to improve the precision of the measurement results supplied by the moisture sensor, an auxiliary electrode is arranged between the two main electrodes outside a region passed over by the wiper in order to determine a shunt resistance formed by residues on the windshield and/or in the region of a windshield gasket covering. The main electrodes and the auxiliary electrode lead to an evaluation circuit.

  • Patent number: 5622360
Abstract: A feeder station for apparatus for collating printed sheets includes a mechanism for imparting motion to individual sheets prior to the time the sheets are engaged by a pusher mechanism which propels the stack of collated sheets being formed along a conveyor. The mechanism for imparting motion to the individual sheets in the feeder station contacts the sheets within a region which is directly aligned with the path the engaged portion of the sheet travels in moving from a feed magazine to the feeder station under the influence of a gripper device, the sheet thus being transferred directly from the gripper device into contact with the motion imparting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5535998
Abstract: The front limit stop of the stack receiving magazine of a sheet separator is provided, in the region contacted by the lowermost sheets of the stack, with a retractable wall portion. The movements of this retractable wall portion are synchronized with the operation of a device which causes downward deflection of the edge region of a sheet located adjacent the magazine front limit stop. Accordingly, simultaneously with the application of the deflecting force, the frictional retaining force is removed from the edge region of the sheet to be separated.
