Patent number: 11953862Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer storage media for providing an optimal control configuration for a material processing system are provided. In operation, a material processing engine accesses causal graph input data. Causal graph input data includes input data of a continuous flow process. Based on the causal graph and the input data, a causal graph that aligns with do-calculus manipulations—associated with determining identifiable causal relationships corresponding to input materials of the continuous flow process—is generated. The causal graph is parsed based on the do-calculus manipulations to determine valid conditioning sets associated with estimating a causal impact on an optimization target. Based on the valid conditioning sets, an optimal control configuration comprising optimal control variable values is generated.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2021Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: THE BOSTON CONSULTING GROUP, INC.Inventors: John Thomas Clark, Jr., Joakim Kalvenes, Jason Thomas Stewart, Rohin Wood

Publication number: 20230007852Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer storage media for providing a blending flow configuration for a material processing system that blends a material from multiple sources. A blending flow configuration identifies an arrangement of components and settings of the components in the material processing system to support blending a material. The blending flow configuration can support optimizing outcomes of different types of downstream processes. The material properties data are identified based on different types of measurements. For example, block models, lab assays, and on-stream analyzers can be used to determine a composition of the material. Grinding line performance data (or grinding line operation data) that estimates the grinding line performance or capacity can also be accessed. A description of a conveyance network design of the material processing system is generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2022Publication date: January 12, 2023Inventors: Joakim Kalvenes, Jason Thomas Stewart, John Thomas Clark, Jr., Rohin Wood

Publication number: 20230008357Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer storage media for providing an overflow management configuration for a material processing system that blends a material from multiple sources. The overflow management configuration identifies an arrangement of components and settings of the components in the material processing system to support blending a material while reducing a risk of overflow. The blending flow configuration can support optimizing outcomes of different types of downstream processes. The material properties data are identified based on different types of measurements. For example, block models, lab assays, and on-stream analyzers can be used to determine composition of the material. Grinding line performance data that estimates the grinding line performance or capacity can also be accessed. Patent number: 8468355Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for creating a veiled certificate is provided. The method comprises requesting a certificate from a regulator by sending a message with a digital signature of the message signed by the owner. The message comprises an owner's veiled certificate token, the veiled certificate token comprising an encrypted version of the owner's identification data and the owner's identification public key for the certificate. The message further comprises the identification public key, the whole message being encrypted using the regulator's external public key. The certificate request is validated by verifying the sender's identity through validation of the digital signature using the owner's external public key and verifying the veiled certificate token using the individual' external public key.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2009Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Assignee: University of South CarolinaInventors: John H. Gerdes, Jr., Joakim Kalvenes, Chin-Tser Huang

Patent number: 7778645Abstract: A computer-based program performs calculations to analyze, vary, test, manage, and/or improve the performance of channels and/or frequencies in the communication spectrum. The program varies parameters of a point of communication, such as the location, transmission power, channel frequency, antenna height, and the like, alone or in combination, to measure, test, and/or evaluate which parameter changes increase the market coverage of a target market or area. In some scenarios, changes to one point of communication cause the regulations governing the broadcast relationship between one or more nearby points of communication to be violated. When this occurs, the program determines which of the parameters, such as the location, transmission power, channel and/or frequency, antenna height, and the like, alone or in combination, of the point of communication interfering with the increased market coverage scenario to vary to overcome the conflict with communications and/or regulatory law.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2007Date of Patent: August 17, 2010Assignee: Media Technology Ventures, LLCInventors: Ronald A. Unkefer, William Roland Hieatt, III, Harold A. Rose, Neil Jennings Keon, Joakim Kalvenes, Robert W. Denny, Jr.
