A threaded axle is connected to a hand crank extending from the top of the lid and urges a pusher downward toward the blade as the crank is turned. Additional interchangeable plates are provided, including cheese grating and juice reaming plates.

Ideally, the collector base includes an inclined floor and measurement indicators to enable the grinding and measuring of a desired volume of spice.
