Abstract: A liner apparatus and method of extending the shelf like of produce items using said liner apparatus, in which the liner apparatus is comprised of a liner body containing a plurality of alpaca felting fibers, a substantially planar surface, and in certain embodiments a flexible covering provided over the liner body, whereby when the liner apparatus is positioned in a container suited for holding one or more produce items excess moisture on the surface of produce items placed in the container is transferred to the liner body.

Abstract: A liner apparatus and method of extending the shelf like of produce items using said liner apparatus, in which the liner has first and second substantially planar surfaces, and is comprised of a felted body composed of a plurality of alpaca felting fibers and a fiber binding agent, said alpaca felting fibers being felted together with said fiber binding agent to form a felted body that wicks excess moisture from the surface of produce items placed in contact with said felted body.
