The evaporation area includes a liquid inlet for introducing liquid to be concentrated into the evaporation area, and a liquid and vapor outlet for conveying the liquid through the evaporation area. A vapor circulating system is coupled between the liquid inlet end and the liquid and vapor outlet of the evaporation area for increasing the velocity of the liquid to be concentrated for impeding or removing precipitated particles or deposits from the heat exchange surfaces.
