  • Patent number: 11346021
Abstract: The invention relates to melt spun multifilaments based on thermoplastic polyurethane, their production and the use of said melt spun multifilaments to produce technical textiles and clothing such as socks, stockings, compression textiles like medical bandage, surgical hose, orthopedic elastic bandage, sport textiles, underwear etc.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 8, 2017
Date of Patent: May 31, 2022
    Assignee: Covestro Deutschland AG
Inventors: Christian Wamprecht, Jochen Norwig, Christoph Gürtler, Pavan Manvi, Gunnar Seide, Thomas Gries
  • Patent number: 11312812
Abstract: The present invention describes a process for producing an elastomer, preferably a polyurethane-containing elastomer, by reacting a polyol component (A) comprising at least one polyether carbonate polyol (A-1) containing carbon-carbon double bonds with a component (B) which is reactive with OH groups and contains at least one compound reactive toward OH groups, preferably an isocyanate component (B-1) containing NCO groups, in the presence of a free-radical initiator (C), preferably at least one peroxide (C-1), and optionally a catalyst (D), where the molar ratio of the OH-reactive groups of component (B) reactive with groups, to the OH groups of the polyol component (A) containing carbon-carbon double bonds, is greater than 1.0. It further relates to elastomers obtainable by such a process, preferably polyurethane elastomers, the use thereof, and two-component systems for production of elastomers, preferably polyurethane elastomers.

  • Publication number: 20210171426
Abstract: A process for preparing polyol, wherein, in a first process stage, a diol is prepared by a process comprising: (1-i) adding alkylene oxide and carbon dioxide onto an H-functional starter substance in the presence of a catalyst to obtain polyethercarbonate polyol and a cyclic carbonate, (1-ii) separating the cyclic carbonate from the resulting reaction mixture from step (1-i), (1-iii) hydrolyzing the cyclic carbonate separated from step (1-ii) to carbon dioxide and diol, and (1-iv) optionally purifying the diol resulting from step (1-iii) by distillation.

  • Publication number: 20150072862
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a multilayer film capable of releasing an active ingredient, for example a pesticide. The film has a bottom or internal layer composed in part of a water-soluble polymer fraction containing the active ingredient, and a top or external layer. The bottom or internal layer may have a water-insoluble fraction in addition to the water-soluble polymer fraction. Relative proportions of the water-soluble polymer fraction and of the water-insoluble fraction provide a pre-determined time of release of the active ingredient when the multilayer film is exposed to humidity and/or moist conditions. The present disclosure also relates to methods of making the multilayer film and to uses of the film.
