Abstract: A method (700) of generating a dynamic light effect on a light source array (110) is disclosed. The light source array (110) comprises a plurality of individually controllable light sources (112). The method (700) comprises: obtaining (702) or generating (702) a vector, wherein the vector has a plurality of behavior parameters comprising at least a speed and a direction, and the vector has one or more appearance parameters comprising at least a color and/or a brightness, mapping (704) the vector onto the light source array (110) over time according to the behavior parameters of the vector, and controlling (706) the light output of the plurality of light sources (112) over time according to the mapping of the vector onto the light source array (110) and according to the appearance parameters of the vector.

  • Patent number: 10690297
Abstract: A tubular light comprises an elongate light source (10) and a tubular housing (18) around the light source. An optical beam shaping arrangement (20) is provided within the housing. It has an effective focal distance, in the plane perpendicular to the length axis, which varies in dependence on the angular position around the optical beam shaping arrangement. The effective focal distance is longer for light in a light output optical axis direction than for light output laterally to the sides of the light output optical axis. This means the beam shaping, e.g. collimation, is greater at the edges of the light output beam than in the middle, so there is light mixing within the output beam.

  • Publication number: 20190293270
Abstract: A lighting device has at least two lighting strips, which are slidable relative to each other and overlap in a region of overlap so that the overall length may be adjusted. The combined light intensity per unit length of the lighting strips in the region of overlap corresponds to the light intensity per unit length of the first and second lighting strips outside the region of overlap. This arrangement makes sure the combined light output in the region of overlap is the same as where the lighting strips do not overlap. In this way, the overall device is reversibly and repeatedly extendable and retractable and maintains a relatively constant light output per unit length.

  • Patent number: 10125946
Abstract: A luminaire comprises a first lighting module for providing a first lighting effect such as task lighting. The first lighting module has a front light exit face and a support structure with a rear reflective portion. A second lighting module is for providing a second lighting effect such as decorative lighting, directed to the reflective portion of the support structure. The luminaire is capable of producing the two different lighting effects in different directions.
