  • Publication number: 20230415213
Abstract: A method for producing open-seam pipes from flat metal products, in particular sheet metal, includes a plurality of individual bending steps using at least one bending tool and at least one externally located lower tool. A plurality of positions of individual bending steps and the insertion depth of the bending tool are calculated in advance. Based thereon the flat metal product is then shaped step-by-step to form the open-seam pipe. After each of the bending steps, a target/actual comparison of the distance between two edges and/or between one of the two edges and the axial center line of the flat metal product is carried out. In case of a deviation, a correction value for the subsequent bending step is determined using a correction algorithm so as then to adapt the insertion depth for the bending tool.

  • Publication number: 20220243859
Abstract: A metal pipe and a system of pipes, and a method of producing the same. The pipe is for conveying oil and gas. The pipe includes a metal coating in a transition region. The metal coating of the transition region obviates a subsequent coating of the inner surface of the transition region after connecting two pipes using a welding process in order to form a pipeline.

  • Patent number: 11097326
Abstract: A method for producing open-seam pipes from sheet metal panels, in particular thick sheet metal panels. A sheet metal panel, having bending edges on the long sides thereof, is fed to a pipe forming press where the sheet metal panel is formed, lying on a lower tool having of two supporting elements which are horizontally spaced apart from each other, by an upper tool, which can be raised and lowered, by application of a bending force, progressively into an open-seam pipe having bending edges on opposite long sides with a gap for later longitudinal seam welding. In order that the sheet metal panel can be easily, progressively formed or shaped from the start, at least the bending sections immediately adjacent on the bending edges of the sheet metal panel are each formed from the outside to the inside, deviating from a numerically ascending bending step sequence in a pilgering process sequence.

  • Patent number: 9304204
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for optically measuring the interior of a seamless pipe which is manufactured by rolling or of a pipe which is welded with a longitudinal seam and is manufactured from sheet-metal plates shaped to form half-shells or from a shaped sheet-metal plate or from a metal strip which is unwound from a coil, comprising a sensor means (9) which emits a laser beam (10) in the interior of the pipe (3). In such a method and device, an internal measurement of seamless pipes or pipes which are welded with a longitudinal seam is to be provided with which it is easily possible to determine and model precisely the ovalness and straightness of the pipe (3) in a station.

  • Patent number: 9057601
Abstract: An apparatus for three-dimensionally imaging a pipe centered on and extending along an axis has supports for supporting the pipe by engagement with only an inside surface of the pipe such that an outer surface of the pipe is entirely exposed. A scanner is spacedly juxtaposed with and around the outer surface of the pipe. The scanner and the pipe can be relatively axially displaced such that the scanner passes along a full length of the pipe for scanning of the entire outer surface.

  • Patent number: 5357773
Abstract: A method of longitudinal rolling of seamless pipes in a continuous rolling procedure on an internal tool in a multiple-stand rolling train, wherein the rolls of successive rolling stands are mounted off set relative to each other. In accordance with the present invention, in a first of only two successive rolling passes, a roll thickness reduction is produced with opened roll groove sides in the roll groove bottom which reduction corresponds to or is slightly greater than the roll thickness of the finished pipe. In the second rolling pass, the side portion of the first rolling pass is reduced in the direction of the width to the wall thickness of the finished pipe in the roll groove bottom of the second rolling pass.
