Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of erecting a flat case blank into a squared or erected condition using an erector mechanism that includes two arms interconnected by a pivotal axis and each mounting a gripper and wherein one of said grippers is fixed to its arm and the other is slidably mounted on its arm for movement radially of the pivotal axis.

Abstract: In general, the present invention comprises of a control unit with a tape applicator with operative members to selectively actuate sensors of a multiple sensor arrangement each of which is positioned to detect movement or position caused by a carton or the dispensing tape; specifically, the signal caused by the present of the carton; the movement caused by the dispensing tape as the carton being taped, and a further signal actuated based on the size (depletion) of the dispensing tape roll. The detected signals from the sensors are sent to a control unit with a multiple timing circuit or a preprogrammed micro processor with predetermined sequences and time values to generate and emit a correspond alarm signal based on the following control logics.

Abstract: A tape applicator to apply tape onto a vertical face of a carton with the tape roll mounted for rotation on a horizontal axis and including a tape deforming device position on a tape path between the tape roll and the point of application of the tape to the carton. The tape deforming device twists the plane of the tape through 90° from horizontal when leaving the tape roll to vertical for application to the vertical face of the carton. The tape applicator can adjust the position of the tape at the point of application to the carton vertically.
