Publication number: 20180163259Abstract: The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods, and related systems, products and kits, for performing temperature-dependent multiplex invasive cleavage assays, where a plurality of target nucleic acids are detected and distinguished from each other in a procedure using only a single fluorescent moiety as the reporter, and single channel fluorescence detection. In some embodiments, at least one of the plurality of target nucleic acids is an amplified nucleic acid, where progress in a thermal cycling amplification reaction is monitored as a function of time (i.e., real-time amplification).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2016Publication date: June 14, 2018Inventors: Patrick L. PETERSON, Jeff G. HALL, Joe KING

Patent number: 9943394Abstract: A device for causing hemostasis includes a sheet of mesh stretchable between an expanded and a retracted configuration, a size of the sheet in the retracted configuration being selected to cover a target tissue site; a spring mechanism coupled to the mesh, the spring mechanism moving between an expanded configuration and a retracted configuration when the mesh is moved between the expanded and retracted configurations; and a plurality of hooks coupled to the mesh and oriented to extend into tissue to lock the mesh in position when the mesh is placed in a desired position over the target tissue site in the expanded configuration. The hooks are lockingly engaging the target tissue so that, after the hooks have lockingly engaged the tissue, the spring mechanism reverts to the retracted configuration drawing the engaged portions of tissue radially inward.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2015Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: BOSTON SCIENTIFIC SCIMED, INC.Inventors: John Allen Hingston, Daniel Robert Quinn, Michael E. Zupkofska, Kerry L. Grant, Brian Gaffney, Rachael Ann Rheaume, Kenny Joe King, Shawn Kerr, Paul Smith, Michelle Fater, Kevin John Wilcox, Dylan Murphy

Patent number: 7549118Abstract: Modular content framework and document format methods and systems are described. The described framework and format define a set of building blocks for composing, packaging, distributing, and rendering document-centered content. These building blocks define a platform-independent framework for document formats that enable software and hardware systems to generate, exchange, and display documents reliably and consistently. The framework and format have been designed in a flexible and extensible fashion. In addition to this general framework and format, a particular format, known as the reach package format, is defined using the general framework. The reach package format is a format for storing paginated documents. The contents of a reach package can be displayed or printed with full fidelity among devices and applications in a wide range of environments and across a wide range of scenarios.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2004Date of Patent: June 16, 2009Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Andrey Shur, Jerry Dunietz, Joe King, Josh Pollock, Wei Zhu, Oliver H. Patent number: 7381022Abstract: An automated storage and retrieval system wherein electrically driven, computer-controlled carriages (58) can navigate a system of rails (78) in three-dimensions. Multiple carriages (58) can independently operate at the same time to accomplish a task faster or to work on several different tasks at the same time. The rails (78) have a system of trap doors (95) that allow a carriage (58) to use a single reversible motor (67) to navigate the rails (78) in three-dimensions. With the carriage (58) in positioned in font of a bin position, the carriage mounted manipulating device (125) can move bins (115) to and from the racks (107) from either side with a single reversible motor (131). The rails (78) are electrified to provide power for the drive (67) and manipulator motors (131). A main computer (146) maintains the inventory, handles transactions and assigns tasks to the computer-controlled carriages (58).Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2004Date of Patent: June 3, 2008Inventor: Rodney Joe King
