  • Patent number: 5333808
Abstract: A manual unreeling device for a spool of wire is adapted to be pulled over the surface of the ground in a first position in which the rims of the spool act as wheels for rolling support of the device and an inverted second position where a pair of integral skids supports the device for sliding movement over the ground and holds the spool above and out of contact with the ground surface. The first position allows better control of the payout of the wire from the spool and the second inverted position is utilized when skidding of the rims on the ground because of the increasing differential between rim diameter and remaining wire coil diameter inhibits effective operation.

  • Patent number: 5284382
Abstract: An apparatus for making a brush broom includes a lever-operated holder for enclosing and precompressing the gathered cut ends of a bunch of branches for a broom. The lever is pressed downwardly against the enclosed branch ends and held by the user until a U-shaped tie wire surrounding the branches and extending upwardly through a slot in the lever arm is twisted around the branches. The broom handle is driven into the center of the bound branch ends to complete the broom.

  • Patent number: 5215355
Abstract: A hands-free dump wagon includes a harness with a universal hitch attached directly to the tongue of the wagon, permitting the user complete freedom of movement while the wagon is attached. A handle is positioned near the universal hitch and includes an actuator mechanism for locking and unlocking the wagon bin relative to the tongue to permit both a tilting and dumping action. A linkage assembly is connected to the tongue and pivotably secured to an end gate, automatically opening the gate for dumping the contents of the wagon when the wagon bin is moved from the locked position to the unlocked, tilted position.

  • Patent number: 5203817
Abstract: A fence post bracket is stamped from a single sheet of material and includes a back wall and three side walls for supporting a fence post on the major portion of its perimeter. The fence post side walls terminate in a pluality of legs providing for multiple point support of the fence post in a concrete embedded post hole. The bottom of the fence post is supported above ground level and is unencumbered to provide for complete drainage of the fence post, minimizing deterioration of the fence post due to moisture retention.

  • Patent number: 5190351
Abstract: A wheelbarrow has an enlarged wheel and a low center of gravity for transporting heavy loads. The enlarged wheel and low center of gravity increases the stability of the wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow includes a payload bucket which is tiltable for dumping the payload. The bucket is mounted such that the dumping operation is behind the wheel of the wheelbarrow, whereby the dumping operation can be completed without substantially altering the center of gravity of the wheelbarrow, further enhancing the stability of the wheelbarrow when transporting heavy loads. The wheelbarrow bucket includes an arcuate or C-shaped bottom facilitating the dumping operation.
