  • Publication number: 20230127303
Abstract: A cross reality system enables any of multiple devices to efficiently and accurately access previously stored maps and render virtual content specified in relation to those maps. The cross reality system may include a cloud-based localization service that responds to requests from devices to localize with respect to a stored map. The request may include one or more sets of feature descriptors extracted from an image of the physical world around the device. Those features may be posed relative to a coordinate frame used by the local device. The localization service may identify one or more stored maps with a matching set of features. Based on a transformation required to align the features from the device with the matching set of features, the localization service may compute and return to the device a transformation to relate its local coordinate frame to a coordinate frame of the stored map.

  • Patent number: 11632679
Abstract: A cross reality system enables any of multiple devices to efficiently and accurately access previously stored maps and render virtual content specified in relation to those maps. Both stored maps and tracking maps used by portable devices may have wireless fingerprints associated with them. The portable devices may maintain wireless fingerprints based on wireless scans performed repetitively, based on one or more trigger conditions, as the devices move around the physical world. The wireless information obtained from these scans may be used to create or update wireless fingerprints associated with locations in a tracking map on the devices. One or more of these wireless fingerprints may be used when a previously stored map is to be selected based on its coverage of an area in which the portable device is operating. Maintaining wireless fingerprints in this way provides a reliable and low latency mechanism for performing map-related operations.

  • Publication number: 20230083821
Abstract: An apparatus for producing fluid from a wellbore includes production tubing in the wellbore, an annulus around the tubing, and a chemical injection system for injecting chemical additive into the production tubing from the annulus. The chemical additive system includes an injection module with a valve that is selectively opened and closed by operating an actuator. When the valve is opened, the chemical additive is injected into the tubing in response to a pressure differential between the annulus and tubing. The injection module is surface-controlled and downhole conditions are monitored, so that a flow of chemical additive injection is initiated, adjusted, or suspended in real time.

  • Patent number: 11553030
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system configured to implement a service worker capable of serving multiple single page applications (SPAs) that are hosted in the same uniform resource locator (URL) space (e.g., a domain within which the SPAs are hosted). Accordingly, the defined scope of the service worker is no longer bound by only one SPA, but rather by a root directory of a web site that hosts multiple SPAs. Since the service worker described herein serves multiple SPAs, the service worker implements an approach to ensure that a correct application controller corresponding to the SPA that hosts a URL is invoked. To do this, the service worker is configured to leverage a router and a routing table to associate a URL included in a request from a browser with the correct application controller corresponding to the SPA that hosts the URL for which the request is sent.

  • Patent number: 11519248
Abstract: Gas and liquid velocities of fluid in a lift gas assisted well system are estimated by adding liquid and gas tracers downhole and monitoring their travel time over a known distance. Based on estimated velocities, a slip factor is obtained that represents relative velocities of the gas and liquid in the fluid. A flow regime of the fluid is identified based on the slip factor. The flow regime is optionally altered by adjusting one or more operational parameters of the well.

  • Publication number: 20220333469
Abstract: An annulus safety valve assembly for controlling gas flow in a wellbore annulus that includes a passage, a check valve in the passage, and an actuator that is selectively changed between first and second states. The actuator is bi-stable, and requires no energy to remain in either state. When the actuator is put into one of the states, the check valve configuration is changed from one way flow to two way flow. Reconfiguring the check valve into the two way flow configuration vents lift gas from inside the annulus that is below the check valve.

  • Patent number: 11441401
Abstract: Liquid is unloaded from a well with a hybrid gas lift system that includes a lift gas source and valves for injecting lift gas into production tubing. The types of valves include pressure production operated (“PPO”) valves and a surface operated valve. Pressure inside the production tubing is measured to monitor operation of the PPO valves, and identify if the PPO valves are experiencing and anomaly, such as multi-pointing or chattering. The surface operated valve is selectively actuated to correct anomalous operation of the PPO valves.

  • Patent number: 11401788
Abstract: A method and system of producing fluid from a well with a gas lift system that includes a virtual plunger made from a plunger forming material. The virtual plunger is formed downhole by injecting the plunger forming material directly into a column of liquid inside production tubing and from an annulus that circumscribes the production tubing. The flow of plunger forming material into the production tubing is controlled by an injection valve intersecting a sidewall of the production tubing. The plunger forming material is added to the annulus from the surface, and enough is added so its upper level is above the injection valve. Adding injection gas to the production tubing below the virtual plunger pushes the virtual plunger and column of liquid to surface. The plunger forming material has properties so that the virtual plunger remains cohesive while traveling uphole.

  • Patent number: 11386629
Abstract: An augmented reality viewing system is described. A local coordinate frame of local content is transformed to a world coordinate frame. A further transformation is made to a head coordinate frame and a further transformation is made to a camera coordinate frame that includes all pupil positions of an eye. One or more users may interact in separate sessions with a viewing system. If a canonical map is available, the earlier map is downloaded onto a viewing device of a user. The viewing device then generates another map and localizes the subsequent map to the canonical map.

  • Patent number: 11327177
Abstract: Disclosed herein are examples of ladar systems and methods where data about a plurality of ladar returns from prior ladar pulse shots gets stored in a spatial index that associates ladar return data with corresponding locations in a coordinate space to which the ladar return data pertain. This spatial index can then be accessed by a processor to retrieve ladar return data for locations in the coordinate space that are near a range point to be targeted by the ladar system with a new ladar pulse shot. This nearby prior ladar return data can then be analyzed by the ladar system to help define a shot energy for use by the ladar system with respect to the new ladar pulse shot.

  • Patent number: 11326425
Abstract: A lift gas injection system that is used for introducing lift gas into a stream of production fluid includes a lift gas injection valve. A pressure protection system guards the injection valve against external overpressure by blocking communication to inside the injection valve housing when ambient pressure exceeds a set pressure. Communication is blocked by moving a valve member so that it obstructs flow through an opening in the housing. The system includes pressure actuated valve which has a platen mounted to an end of a bellows, and a valve member coupled to the platen. Surface area is reduced on the bellows side of the platen that creates a force imbalance on the platen from applied ambient pressure. At the set pressure the force imbalance moves the platen, and which pushes the valve member against the opening. A compressible pressure compensator inside the injection valve protects against internal overpressure.
